Who Is Fuzzymike & Lisa ???

Hello all you fuzzy lovers! ! !

  We are Michael and Lisa.

We live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  A western suburb of Chicago.  We have had ferrets now for over a year now and read up on all we can get our hands on.  We both work goofy hours, but find the time to let the fuzzbutts out for about three to four hours each day to get their exercise.
How did we get eight of these little terrors?  Well in July of 1999.  Lisa and I were out and about and decided to stop at this large pet store we go to once in a while.  We had been thinking of a new pet for a while and Lisa wanted a Chinchilla and I wanted a ferret.  We read up on both and when we walked into Scott's Petworld and saw the ferrets our decision was made.
We played and played with them until we narrowed our choice down to two and took them home.  They are Rye and Coocoo.  We really did not even plan on getting ferrets that day.  They stole our hearts and we took them home.  Reason for the name none really.  It just popped into our heads.  They are happy and healthy and play a lot but we thought some more playmates would be better for them.
In October of 1999 we attended "THE GREATEST FERRET SHOW ON EARTH" by Greater Chicago Ferret Association.  We went to get them some supplies and check it out.  There I saw this Dark Eyed White.  I walked away for him after holding him but soon after I adopted him and called him Dimzdale after a Monty Python show.  His real name was Dale.  Lisa wanted a girl and saw and adopted Moxy from another shelter.  She called her that because Lisa said the girl has a lot of moxy.  So that brought our number up to four.
All was quiet till one day we went into Petco to buy some litter.  Lisa ran over to the ferret cage they had there and I saw this little gray ball of fur.  Lisa yelled he's coming home with us!  We named him Dusty because he looked like a little dust ball.  So that got us up to five.
We wanted to even out the number and went to a big pet show in March 2000 and found no fuzzies there.  We stopped by a pet store in the neighborhood.  We wanted to check it out and saw two ferrets in a cage on the floor next to the door.  One had a respiratory infection caused by the wood chips they were in.  We really only wanted one but could not leave one behind.  I picked up the male and got licks galore and called him SMOOCH.  The female we later called TWITCHY because she is very squirmy.  Well now we were up to seven.
Then in August of 2000 we stopped in a pet store to get supplies.  (See the pattern here?)  Went to see the animals and saw the pathetic, dirty, bald tail, long nailed, ferret there.  Someone had dropped him off and paid the pet store $25 to take him.   A couple days later we got him for free from them and because he looked so scraggly we named him SKRAGGS.  Since then his tail has begun to grow back and he is as strong as a horse.   Eight is enough for us.
Ferret math can hit hard so be strong.  Read up on ferrets like we did so you know what to do once you get them home.
