The Frankfurt Flamers continue their dominance this season with a decisive 34-3 win over San Diego. The Frankfurt Flamers have the only defense in the NFL that has played three games and not allowed more than one touchdown all three games combined. Second-year WR Nelly Sweeney finally broke out in this game with a big game, catching 7 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown, which was a 33 yd reception form QB Steve Marcucci. James DeLuca also had a good game, catching 5 passes for 103 yards, but no touchdowns. The game's MVP award went to Sweeney, her first since Week 14 of last year. The defense was strong enough to hold the Chargers to a lone field goal, as they have allowed only 12 points in three games, or an average of 4 per game, by far the lowest in the NFL. However on offense, the Flamers have scored 101 points (plus 6 points for defensive safeties), averaging 33.6 points per game. The Flamers defense has also scored more points than any other defense in the NFL with 12 (1 TD and 3 safeties). Bryce Read recorded his first NFL defensive MVP of the game award, racking up 6 solo tackles, 5 sacks, including a safety. QB Steve Marcucci was sacked 10 more times, for a total of 31 on the year. However he has now gone 3 full games without throwing an interception. Pat McNeill went 6 for 6 on field goal attempts (from 46, 20, 19, 42, 40, 34 yds) and 2 for 2 on PAT's, accounting for 20 of the Flamers 34 points in Week 3. he now has 35 points, most by a kicker in the NFL. On the ground, RB Harold Currier has only run for 116 yds in 3 games, but leads the NFL with 5 rushing touchdowns. The two cornerbacks, Lauren Byrne and Ian Fullerton are the two leading tacklerson the team with 26 and 23 tackles, respectively. The Flamers are 3-0 to start the season for the 2nd straight season, coming off of a championship year.
