Again, the Frankfurt Flamers prevail. They may not be the only undefeated team in the NFL, but they are certainly playing like the best. The defense has allowed only 1 touchdown in its first 4 games, and only 15 total points. The sacks keep piling up, and they now have sacked the opposing quarterback nearly 60 times total, including 15 in Week 5. They have also committed 4 safeties, most by any team in the NFL. On offense, although a huge 333 passing yards with 4 touchdowns was accomplished by QB and game MVP Steve Marcucci, he only went 17 for 31. This was not because of accuracy problems, but because of dropped passes by the receivers. There were a total of 10 dropped passes in the game, 7 of them by WR Nelly Sweeney. Even with the dropped passes, she still managed to rack up 157 receiving yards with 2 touchdowns. James DeLuca also had a fine performance, catching 6 passes (two less than Sweeney) for 155 yards and 2 TD's, including a 74 yard reception to the 4 yard line in the beginning of the second quarter. This ultimately led to a 3 yd TD run by RB Harold Currier, his NFL-leading 6th. The Flamers can afford to make so many mistakes in a game, and still pull out a 34 point victory, which is something any team should be proud of. The Flamers take their 4-0 record to New York to face the Jets, who are currently 3-2, tied for 2nd in the AFC East.
