1.Australia
is a land unlike any other. The uniqueness of its animals, plants and landscapes
are consequences of a vast, slow accident of geology.
Over the past 45 million years, this old, thick, and very flat
continental plate has inched away from Antarctica towards the equator. This
journey isolated Australian life forms from other parts of the world and
presented them with particular challenges. Australia is huge and has beautiful
and wild natural scenery.

have lots of unique animals, plants, insects and arachnids, which are found nowhere else in the world. 3.
Australia is a nation built by people
from many different backgrounds. Australians come from all around the
world. About 23 per cent were born in another country and just over a quarter of
the population have at least one parent who was born overseas. People from more
than 140 countries have chosen to become Australian citizens. 4.
Tourism is one of Australia's largest and fastest-growing industries. Generating
more than $16 billion in foreign exchange earnings a year, inbound tourism
contributes three per cent of Australia's gross domestic product. |
