January 26, 2002: 1st Submission
I�ve been a member at Final Fantasy Online for a year now, and I�ve seen the way the admins treat their members close up. It hasn�t been a pretty sight.

January 2001 - An FFO member, Odin, was banned, merely for disagreeing with Dh in the short-lived �Help� forum. Several FFO members were disgusted by this, and went to the board of �Final Fantasy Resource Center�. I was one of them. Another, Ragnarok, posted on there calling Dh a �tosser�. Dh had him banned.
Let me remind you - THIS WAS ON ANOTHER SITE. Dh actually went looking for people insulting him. It�s up to you what you think this says about Dh...
Final Fantasy Resource Center�s admins received hate mail from FFO members that were encouraged by the admins, particularly Dh. Dh himself sent several letters threatening to have the site shut down. In the end, he did, by reporting FFRC for using a pirated UBB.
The admins at FFO counter every attack on them by saying �we try to do something for you, and we get flamed�. Yet these same people encouraged their members to flame the admins of this site.
Dh had it shut down, mainly because he was threatened by these people who hated him - rightly - and that were stealing his members.
Zoom forward to June 2001, and a member called Lanham. He was banned. The reason given was that more than six months ago he registered with two titles. Big. Fuckin�. Deal. The fact of the matter is that many people are given second chances, Lanham was being a great and helpful member, but for some reason the admins (particularly Locke) didn�t like him.
Another case, in September 2001, with a member called iBook. iBook has signed up under many names, and has always acted, in my experience, like a good community minded member. But he�s been banned, because he pissed off Dh in real life.
The admins on FFO are unprofessional, treating their members unfairly because of their own prejudices. If you annoy them once, you�re cursed for life.
I�m an admin and mod at a few boards, and I have always tried to keep the ideals of treating people fairly in mind. So do many other mods at many other boards, some of them large - ShinraOnline, for instance, has nearly 3000 members, yet hardly ever ban a member. FFO admins ban members for straying on inch from their ludicrously strict TOS. FFO admins ban members because it doesn�t like them. FFO admins ban members just because they feel like it. FFO admins are prejudiced, hypocritical and insecure. It�s high time people recognized this.
