Reiki
I was first exposed to the energy of Reiki
when my aunt, and my closest friend, was initiated. She spoke to my about
it a lot, and convinced me to also be initiated. For those who do not know
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is healing energy drawn from the universe and
passed on by Reiki channels. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal
Life Force Energy and was re-discovered in the late 1800's by a Japanese
Monk named Mikao Usui. Shirley A. Rowberry initiated me, making me an 8th
generation channel.
Reiki is a very peaceful and loving energy
that relaxes and balances the mind and spirit as well as the body. Only
on treatment is enough for a person to feel energy immediately and to understand
its gentleness.
Reiki assists peope to regain or enhance
their self-esteem, their natural talents and assists people into standing
their own power. Reiki is spiritual in nature, gentle, totally harmless
and self-sufficient. Nothing else is needed or essential to have the workings
of Reiki. There is no religion or dogmas involved and a person does not
need to habe a belief in it for it to work. It connects on the body, mind
and spiritual levels of each person, and is able to assist the individual
to delve into their own inner being to find causes for their actions, behavour,
illness ets. and then able to heal themselves by understanding the causes
for these problems.
Reiki is a 'feeling' and is very hard to
describe. When we fall over, we instinctively put our hands on the injured
part of our body. This is a natural instinct that everyone as the ability
to heal through a 'chakra' or energy point in their hands. Everyone does
have a healing energy, the strength varies considerably from person to
person. Reiki enhances this energy and we 'feel' the energy pour
from our hands into our own or someone else's body. This energy stays there
until the affected part is energised enough to begin the body's own healing
process.
If you find that your hands often go hot,
and have a healing nature to them, it is likely that you can heal, but
it is different to Reiki. When your hands go hot, you are using your own
energy to heal others, as opposed to using universal life force energy,
energy that is all around us. By using your own energy, you will find that
it leaves you feeling drained afterwards. When you use energy with Reiki,
it flows like a beam of light through your crown (the 7th Charka), through
your body then out your hands (and sometimes feet too) to the recipient.
By this process, you are not only healing the recipient, but you are also
healing yourself in the process.
I believe that illness is caused mentally.
When you get a cold, it is because you are doing too much, and you have
ignored your body's commands to slow down. It forces you to slow down by
getting a cold, making you stay in bed for a few days. Almost all of our
healing is done while we are sleeping, that is why when people are sick,
they are told to sleep, so the body can heal itself. So, next time
someone tells you to stay away because they have a cold, remember that
it's their cold, and you won't catch it unless you've been ignoring your
body's cries to slow down.
I had knee surgery over a year ago to fix
a knee problem. Your left knee represents pressure form females in your
life, and during the 7-year period that I was having trouble with my knee,
I was under considerable pressure from my female coach. After suffering
for almost 6 years, I finally had surgery on it, and still it was not healed.
After being initiated into Reiki, and realising the cause of my injury,
I have reconciled with the coach that was giving me problems, and I have
never had any trouble since. I have recently suffered form a similar problem,
but with my right knee. I get incredible pain that does not allow me to
walk for hours, sometimes days, at a time. If the problem gets any worse,
I am facing surgery again. I have been 'researching' into what has been
causing these problems and, hopefully, I can avoid surgery.
