The Keeper's Hut

Farther down the stream, there is a secluded little spot in the grove. It is marked by a small ring of young oak trees, and gets both the morning and the evening sun. In the center of this little clearing is a thatch hut. It's plain brown appearance shows nothing significant, but above the door hangs the symbol of protection and warding. Closer inspection shows signs of life around the hut. A large, brown, great horned owl hoots and announces a presence in the clearing. At this call, a young man emerges from the hut to greet you . . .

Hi, and welcome to the Druid's Grove. Now that I'm in my own little place, I can leave off some of the storytelling for a while. My name is Sam Campbell, but I often go by NyteWyyrm. I'm 21, a Junior, and a music major at West Virginia Wesleyan College. I"m also secretary of the Kappa Zeta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Wesleyan, but you can learn more about that at the Firecircle talks. As you can tell, I have a great fascination and love of Celtic knotwork, Celtic traditions, philosophy, and fantasy. This is my first web page, so I've tried things that I'm not very sure are going to work. I hope my page provides an interesting place to visit. I hope to have some sort of forum, eventually, where I can post different topics and debates among people who visit here. I'm not sure how that will work, but it might be an email correspondence thing and I'll post the conversation on a page for everyone to see. For right now, though, I'm just happy to have a page out on the web. I did all of the Celtic knotwork you see. Most of the fantasy artwork was created by my friend, Justin "Bug" Swoyer. If you would like to download anything that I have here, I just ask that you put Justin's or my name with the piece for credit. If you would be interested in artwork that I don't have posted, just email me. I am also going to try to eventually post some of my original compositions - poetry and music - but I don't have anything ready to put up yet. I have several songs and poems, but I'm not sure how I want to post them yet.

. . . Well, I guess this page is supposed to be more about me than about my aspirations for my page, so . . . I guess I'll tell you a bit more about me. I'm a musician, as I've mentioned earlier, but I'm going to save all that for the Fire Circle talks. Past being a musician, I'm also into the Martial Arts, a Taoist and Zen practitioner (this is rather unstructured since there are no Masters or wise men very close to me, but maybe that's the very essence of it, after all . . . ), Celtic traditionalist, humanist, and a lover of the arts. As a job, I work at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, West Virginia, which is a very beautiful park and I would encourage everyone to visit if they every get the chance. I work in the Benedum Planetarium as a LASER choreographer/programmer. It's an interesting job for the summer and I enjoy the work. My partner in that venture is Bill Cooey. He's a cool cat, and one of my closest friends. You can even visit him at the Castle just outside of the Druid's Grove. I guess that is about all I have to say about myself. If you would like to talk to me, I'm one of those "Instant Message" addicts and you can contact me via the handle NyteWyyrm or you can get me by the same name on ICQ. And please e-mail me with your thoughts about my page.

Peace

Sam (or NyteWyyrm)
