Celtic Pride Award
For outstanding sites relating to
any of the Celtic countries
The Gold Ring 7/99 Celtic Music ... in the Ozarks. Don't know about you, but it sure makes me smile. I don't know why. Missouri isn't any stranger a place to like Celtic Music than Southern CA... LoL. Don't take any pre conceived notions with you to this site. Enjoy! |

Judge Media Service 7/99 News from County Carlow, Ireland... What could get more Irish? The news is current. A page of information on Carlow County gives a real feel of the local area. (More men than women! High on my list of places to visit... OOO men with Irish accents! Be still my heart!) And personally, I'd like to see more of the beautiful Irish stamps they display! (hint hint to webmaster.) This site has much more of merit, but we'll leave it for you to discover. |

Eachna's Celtic Re-Enactment's
Page 3/99 Talk about true Celtic Pride.. Eachna actually gets out there and clothes herself as an ancient Celt. Her site deals with the ancient Celtic clothing, persona and crafts. Here you can learn how to make your own ancient Celtic clothing, learn about Knucklebones, and follow along with Eachna's cordial making attempts. I came here for a hasty visit to see if it was worth a second look and ended up staying for hours. |

The Sacred Fire 1/99 Huathe has done a superb job of gathering information and links into a page worth several days of surfing. (The Storyteller is my favorite part. Especially the story of Tr na ng) This is another of those sites to get a drink and a bite to eat before entering. You tend to loose track of time here! |
Association Turlough O'Carolan
1/99 A page devoted to the musical and cultural heritage of the Celtic countries. Part of the site is in Italian, but enough is in English to make this a must stop for Celtic music fanciers. |
Clan MacFarlane On-line 1/99 If you were wondering what Celtic Pride is all about, this site dedicated to the Clan MacFarlane is a great example. You can see their tartans (the Ancient Hunting MacFarlane is one of the most beautiful tartans I've seen.) learn the clan's history and even find out how to submit a story for Chicken Soup for the Celtic Soul. (An upcoming book many of us are thrilled to hear about!) |
Celtic Grounds 12/98 This is a very large and comprehensive Celtic site. You can find just about everything here... from mythology to tattoos... from law to customs. Get a drink and a bite to eat. You are going to be here a LONG time. |
Foxes' Covert 12/98 A very active webmaster (webmaster is plural here ;-) ), you never know what will be new at the Foxes' covert. The newest addition at this time is the Nollaig Shona (Merry Christmas) pages. Part of what makes this site unique is the warm giving nature of the webmaster. They live in Ireland and have been very helpful in putting parts of this site together. Enjoy their hospitality! |
is ait an mac an saol 11/98 Did you know that there is a Celtic influence in Louisiana? Did you know that some of St. Patrick's writings have survived to this day? (Did you even realize St Patrick was real?) There are some gems in this site. Even the links are informative. (The Regional music links are a must visit for any music lover or person who would like to talk intelligently about Celtic Music.) |
Fiona Hyland home page 11/98 For me the main feature of Fiona's site is the list of Irish names (with pronunciation guide.) But the names not the only feature of this site... You will get to read some Irish poetry (including love poems) and learn a bit about the genealogy of some Irish families. Fiona also gives us a few of her favorite recipes (and boy do they look good!) |
Sara's Celtic
Realm 11/98 There is so much to see and learn at Sara's I don't know what to single out as the highlights. Sara has put a large amount of time into well thought out pages on topics ranging from the history of the Celts to Irish songs; Irish Folk Wisdom to Gaelic pronunciation. Grab a cup of tea and settle in! |
Celtic Corner 11/98 A wonderful site containing history, cultural information and :-) music reviews. Face it, right now Celtic is trendy. This site will give you the extra edge to wow your friends and family. |
