It
was in 1908 that the first Japanese had arrived at the Brasil. These
were possible thanks to a project of subsidized immigration. At the
time, still devoid of man power, Brazil was finding difficulty with
the government of Italy for the immigration of Japanese italians. They
had been concentrated in the State of São Paulo. Initially they had
been destined to the coffee farms, but the few agricultural
proprietors had become small and average. Different of other
immigrants who, with passing of the years, went changing the
agricultural zone for the city, great part of the Japanese
immigrants remained in the agricultural activities and had
diversified the production . Brazil has the largest Oriental Colony,
after USA. |
