Chapel
where private services are held for the Laird's family and retainers. As you look around notice the number of icons of St Neil and his acolytes. Notice that the Laird's image has been included in several of the icons. This is a custom that dates back to the early Renaissance when having one's picture included in richly appointed icons showed off the monetary extent of one's piety. Take a few minutes to examine the icons at your own pace, then meet back so we can answer any questions and continue the tour.

the Canonization of St Neil is no longer in the Chapel.
For security reasons it was moved to the museum wing. Please stay together
