Immortal Souls
I was the sunshine on a bright, autumn day.
I was the wave that swallowed a crystalline bay.
I was a cloud on a thunderstorm claps terror!
I am nothing and everything together...
My ears hear all, on this spinning ball,
of ours. My eyes!
Saw everything, as I flapped my wings,
Above the ground, among heaven's clouds.
I could be thine eagles screech.
Or sand on oh-so-serene a beach.
I was the foam off a beer mug,
The spot on a ladybug.
My hands are cold to the touch. My soul dims in the shallow light,
of this fallow remembrance.
People I held dear look upon my earthly grave with silent
reverence.
I was a thorn in a bear's paw.
I was my grandmothers shawl,
on a chilly night.
I had the Alpha, and thee, Omega by my side.
I was a key,
to a door that remained forever locked!
Useless and useful I was, I am, I will be.
