Good diets and foods for birds
Just like humans, birds need a lot of different types of foods to be healthy. A good diet for your bird is pellets, seeds, vegetables, cereals, fruits, and pastas. A healthy bird gets all or at least most of these. I feed my bird Roudybush pellets, seeds, Cream of Tweet (cooked mix of foods), pear, orange, almonds, red pepper, pasta, Cheerios and Total. Some other suggestions are okra, nuts, apple, other fruits and vegetables, and raisins. It is also important that your bird has fun eating, like they do in the wild. In the wild, birds dig up and open up their foods, whereas captivated birds just walk over to their food dish. I give my bird almonds in paper towels and shelled nuts. It is also important that you make sure that your food is safe before giving it to your bird. many things that are not toxic to humans are to birds, like chocolate. Also, dairy isn't very good for your bird, but it can have some occasionally. Sweets shouldn't be given very often because, like with humans, birds can aqcuire a taste for them. it is also very important that you wash all fruits and vegetables before giving them to your bird, and don't feed your bird from your mouth, because things in our salyva can be toxic to birds.
