Pastor Dave Smith's Sermons A good and Godly man (no, he's not "perfect" - he'd be pretty horrified at the suggestion, and since I'VE seen him Square Dance, I >know< he isn't perfect, even if he does "doh-see-doh" >much< better than me), HOWEVER, he clearly is much braver than most for allowing me to post copies of some of his sermons at my web site.

They are in MS-Word format. Right-click on them, select "Save as" from the little menu that pops down, and save 'em somewhere on your hard-drive. You will NOT be disappointed, Dear Reader - this guy's got >the knack< for making God's Word understandable, applicable, and meaningful for >actual< folk who have to live in the >actual< world - YOU know who I'm talking about: folks like YOU.
If you have trouble accessing them, or trouble opening them after you download them, drop me some electrons regarding your particular plight, and I'll see what I can do.The current sermons here are part of Dave's series derived from the New Testament (that's the stuff at the far right end of the Bible that also includes all those Gospels), and in particular from the book called 1st Corinthians. Don't have a copy? That's no problem. Get one here at the New American Standard Bible on-line.
This series of sermons is entitled: "The Church - Under Construction”.
Starting at the 1st of the book of 1st Corinthians, each sermon takes consecutive sections of the scripture as the passage to be studied in that lesson. As you can see by the names listed below, I have named each sermon file according to the section of 1st Corinthians from which he is teaching. Find it confusing? Click here for an explanation.
Ok, enough yakking on my part ("finally! ", I can hear you sigh). So, here we go!

That's all I've got for now. But, as long as Dave is willing to e-mail me the rest of the sermons, I'll post 'em here. SO, check back here at least one a week to see what else he's had to say.
Oh, BTW, Do NOT hold Dave's judgement in question just because he agreed to my request to post his stuff so >I< could get at it regardless of where I traveled. Eventually, I expect these prime examples of "the GOOD stuff" in Bible teaching will be placed where they really belong: at the web site of the church he pastors, Northwest Community EFC, San Antonio, TX. You can find some more of his sermons there, as well. (They were obviously assembled by a >much< better web-bubba than yours truely.) But till then, your Bud, the good ol' Iguana, has these here for us to read, and ponder, and give serious thought as to what God's precious Word has to say to us about ourselves, about Himself, and our relationship with Him and each other.

Due to limitations of the MS file naming schema, I have had to make a few allowances for the file names, so that, for example, the sermon file covering the Bible passage starting at the 1st verse and ending at the 13th verse of the 5th chapter of 1st Corinthians (a passage ordinarily written as 1 Corinthians 5:1-13) will look like this: 1Cor5_1-13.doc. And the sermon file covering the Bible passage starting at the 1st verse of the 2nd chapter and ending at the 9th verse of the 3rd chapter (a passage ordinarily written as 1 Corinthians 2:1-3:9) will instead look like this: 1Cor2_1to3_9.doc. I'm sure you'll get the idea once you open a few of the files. Next to the file name, I have included the title of the sermon as well.
