Smoke T news for march 2000: Hi this is Smoke-T welcoming you to the launch of my website. After 6 years of working away at it, i finally got my tape finished and began (as is my wont) hawking it around my mates. To their endless shame: Sold 4 given away 1 and had to pester most of them to get it. Most often given complaint: i don't dig hip hop. It's NOT solely a hip hop album !!!!! From now onwards, Smoke T is going to split shit up. When i do a hip hop thing, i'll make that perfectly clear. It will be a Watchmen product and pure rap. When i do a guitar based thing or an Electronic thing i will make that perfectly clear at the time. I only do music recreationally, purely for a bit of fun. When people start getting snotty about my stuff it takes all the enjoyment out of it and that i can do without. Besides, for the most part, those doing the whingeing haven't a hope in hell of producing anything near the quality of my work despite the pretentions some may have. Thanks indeed to the ever faithful DEF=Adder who sticks by me and even brings me into his own material. However, thanks to DEA's overactive imagination i have to make the following disclaimer: I was NOT in Fulham the day Jill Dando was shot, i was in Wandsworth and had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with it ! New material from Smoke-T ? Probably this year, i have been far too lax during the 1990's, it's time to get back to work, the Character of Smoke-T will be a larger part of my life than previously the case. Hip Hop jams ? - Not reforming the Watchmen with DEA but carrying on Solo for the most part, look for some stuff later in the year. Guitar music ? Ahhh real music, possibly. I need to get my electric guitar fixed but i have a hankering to record some songs acoustically just for fun. Covers mainly. As far as real music goes i really should be expending my energies as bass / guitar player with the London Branch of Jaar (see pages @ www.pnome.com) but that's on the backburner til pSteve gets a new flat sorted out. Untill then, the Jaar torch is carried by the Edinburgh drum and rhythm guitar branch of Dougie and Laurence. Electronic ? Perhaps not. Although my decent soundcard carrying PC is now working and i'm thinking of getting the full retail version of VAZ+ Inna final analysis, Who can tell. For my own part regret nothing, have lived life free from compromise and step now into the shadow without complaint Smoke-T March 2000 |
