Much of conventional Wicca is organized into traditions. Since traditions, by definition, are beliefs and practices that are passed from one generation or group to another, a Wiccan tradition is a specific form of Wiccan practice that is passed to other persons, usually following initiation. In our family's case, I have always been interested in the Celtic Ways. Several years ago I decided to create our Family Tree. Much of our family has split up and sad to say we to not keep in contact. I thought by doing a Family Tree this would give my children an opportunity to learn where they came from, who there family was. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and of course the Grandparents and Great Grandparents. In my research I found that our family originated in Scotland and Ireland. That's when to me my family tree got exciting. I have traces of our family as far back as the 1800's. I have discovered that we had those who strongly believe in ways of Nature but my search continues for more information. For the most part my family is Catholic. They have a strong faith and I know that my brothers and their family enjoy there Sundays as they share in their spirituality at church. My Mother at 72 is disable but enjoys her Mass for shut ins and Communion on Wednesdays. As for my sister and I, well my sister still follows the traditions of her teaching with the Catholic faith but she is not one you will see in Church every Sunday. Like myself she has a hard time with some of man's rules to the gates of heaven. Do not misunderstand me, I do believe in God and I pray every day. I have my morning prayers and evening prayers along with my prayers of thanks for the many blessings given to me for the day. It's just that my outlook or view is different than someone else and for now we shall say the rest of my family's. Being brought up in a Catholic environment I was taught that this was the "TRUE" way. And God forbid me to question it. But I did. And my first question was if this was the true path then why are there so many religions? The truth is, the "TRUE" way or the right path for me is the one that filled my heart and soul with love, compassion and understanding. It blessed me the feeling of being complete and whole again. I will not fear God, my creator for this is my teacher. The following sites will give you a better look at Celtic Folk Lore. Keep an open mind and enjoy them. More links to come!
