The Journey Starts at the Interway HQ at 0N 940W in AWTeen. Hang out there to get more info, or to get onto the expressway head out the door and follow the road!

About the Interway System

The Interway system is a system of detailed expressways and complimentary roadways in AWTeen, that are built by pcnate. These expressways are modeled after the U.S. interstate freeway system. What makes the Interway system interesting is not just a roadway laid down in the world. It is a detailed build just like a detailed city or house. Overpasses and exits are built at appropriate locations. Signs guide people to interesting locations. Large bridges (landmark bridges) are built over waterways to keep the expressway from becoming boring. Major construction on the Interway system is still underway. Some roadway is not yet laid and other expressways have no overpasses or exits built yet. Currently, there is an expressway running the full length north and south (Northway 940 and Southway 940) and another expressway running east and west (Westway 2700 and Eastway 2700). Another full length north-south expressway runs on the east side of AWTeen (Northway 1500 and Southway 1500) The IW-7 and IW-6 are two short east-west expressways to connect the 940 system and the 1500 system. This will create a circle around the highly populated area of AWTeen.

Interway Authority

I, pcnate, have also built many non-expressway roads and highways to compliment the Interway System. All of these roads and expressways are managed by the Interway Authority. Interway Authority is like a fancy name meaning that I built the road. The non-expressway roads that I have built generally lead somewhere specific, like a large build, or the AWTeen Ground Zero. This system of non-expressway roads is refered to as the Interway Trunk Line System.

AWTeen Roadmap

The map below is meant to give citizens a perspective of where roads are in AWTeen. This map shows all the Interway Expressways. It also shows all of the larger roads that I have constructed. Finally, it also shows major roads and highways constructed by other citizens of AWTeen. The Roadmap is updated whenever the AWTeen map is updated, which is usually at the end of each month.

About the Interway Builder

I, pcnate am the sole builder of the Interway system. Exceptions to this include a tunnel being built by wizard24 to allow the Southway 1500 to pass under the nature preserve, and two overpasses which were connected by spectre for me. AlexTheMartian has been a sort of advisor for Interstate Standards in California and abroad. I decided to create the Interway system in AWteen mainly because I enjoy building bridges. The expressways give me a place to build all the bridges I want. Also, my goal is to create an expressway system that unites AWteen and its builds. I hope to accomplish this by creating an expressway that is realistic, detailed, enjoyable, and accurate. So far I think I am being successful in this goal. I have expanded my goals by the inclusion of a Trunk Line Road System. This system of non-expressway roads compliment the expressway system and create an even more effective and comprehensive network of roads.

Pictures

Blue Water Bridge, modeled after the Second Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan. This is a continuous tied arch bridge.

Here is a photo of the real bridge:

Destiny Bridge - This is a highly detailed and accurate suspension bridge on the Southway 1500.

Electric Highway Overpass - Very accurate historic t-beam bridge model.

Fate Bridge, a generic suspension bridge

Platinum City Exit - This exit is much more detailed than my other expressway overpasses and exits, in terms of surrounding features. It includes a gas station, road-side advertisements, good signage and a stoplight.

Lannister Highway Interchange - This simulates the chaotic network of roads and bridges that accompany a mid-city interchange. :)

Object Freeway, and Division Road Exit - This expressway and exit, is actually not part of the Interway Expressway System, due to its short length and the fact that it dead-ends at it's destination. It is, therefore, considered part of the Interway Trunk Line System. A sort of proto-type expressway, this exit and expressway combine to form the most detailed and accurate section of expressway I have ever built.

Historic Metal Truss Bridge, built by the Interway Authority

The Interway Trunk Line System at its best. The power lines are my creation as well.
