WE'RE OFF TO DYMCHURCH !!
After a delicious breakfast of pancakes and maple syrup and nice fresh fruit, we were all headed to Dymchurch for the weekend. Jane and the children in her car, Bob, Roger and I in Bob's car. It was a lovely drive and I just sat back and took in the scenery and Bob pointed out the sites of interest. We arrived in Dymchurch in just over an hour, and unloaded our belongings into the house. We were staying at Bob's parents bungalow, and it was absolutely lovely. After unpacking our things, I was informed we had to go get the train to London. I was slightly confused as to why we would drive to the southwest coast of England, only to take the train back..... but, I trusted these nice people and knew I was in capable hands.....LOL. Roger went on and on about this train and the fabulous bar/restaurant car they had. I was totally impressed !!
We walked down to the train station and patiently sat and waited for the train. I could tell by the whispering and funny looks that something was up, but I was totally clueless as to what it was. Then, along came the train, and I cracked up laughing. This was no train to London.... it was a miniature train (or Leslie size as they referred to it as).

Boy was I surprised when I saw this train coming into the station !! Clare and James, you two are great at keeping secrets !!

This is the regular train ticket.........this is the ticket that upgraded us to first class!! LOL

Well, where else but in England would you have a minature train that served booze !! We were on the dining car......lol.

And here are Jane and Bob, Clare and James
After about 30 mins on the train, we arrive in Hythe.... a wonderful little town on the coast. We did some walking, spent some time on the beach and of course, stopped in at a pub.

This is the town of Hythe...... and this is the beach where we watched the windsurfers.
After more walking and a little bit of grocery shopping and lottery ticket buying (we didn't win), we took the train back to Dymchurch. We were going to have fish and chips for dinner....hoooray !!

Here are James and I on the way back to Dymchurch. What a perfect little gentleman this guy is.
After getting back to Dymchurch, we went up to the pub for a drink and then took the kids (and Roger) to the fair they have there. Roger gambled and managed to win 3 little clay-type kitty cats...lol. I'll treasure them RP! The kids did a bit of gambling and then Roger and Clare, and James and I declared war on each other in the bumper cars (I can't remember what you call them over there)...lol. We had some fun and took some pictures and then headed off to get the fish and chips and mushy peas and go back to the bungalow to eat.

A "Leslie sized" taxi?????? LOL

Here we are in the bumper cars.... James and I won.... I think you're gonna be a race car driver some day James!!
After eating our dinner (I tried the mushy peas and am confident they won't form part of my regular diet), we sat outside and talked some more and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was another full day.
Go ahead....click on it !!!!!
