Capper Comments: GuloGulo is the silent type. A bit standoffish sometimes, even. But this guy is funny, AND he invented the caption gallery (the first UNofficial one, that is), so give the man his props. He's also quite the character and I would like to meet him in person one day.

Caption Comments: Puke's funny. At least it was, before South Park and the Farelly Brothers (sp?) and all those other toilet-humor shows took the joke way to far for way too long. But Gulo's brilliance can take an old joke and still make it seem almost new again.
Capper Comments: A CT giant whose legacy I mostly know from the galleries he started, since his appearances are so scarce nowadays.

It sometimes takes me 3 or 4 days to figure them out, then I laugh my ass off for another 3 or 4 days....
Scarey as hell but accurate and as graphic as they can be.
Capper Comments: GuloGulo was among the first 3 cappers I ever met.
The man's genius, scares the hell outta' me with what he can do with a computer.
He invented Caption Galleries, as far as I'm concerned and for that we are all in his debt.
Taught me more than anyone (even though he didn't know it most of the time) and answered a pantload of stupid questions on .html

Capper Comments: GuloGulo is one of those guys you either get or don't. He caps what he thinks is funny and that's why he's consistently hilarious, to me, anyway. He leads the caps on my "Disturbing!" page in the gallery and for good reason. Forget threads, forget movie references, GG does it his way. And, of course, he gets bonus points for being there since the earliest days and probably initiating the sense of community everyone feels from Caption This! by sending me an e-mail about his new gaggle of captions he swiped for his own gallery. From there it all snowballed...

At the end of every show, Lesko reaches out, turns the handle, opens the screen of your TV and steps into your living room to sleep on your couch.

Caption Comments: Forget about Chubby Checker. Don't let Fats Domino near your freezer again. 'Cause Obese Chesspiece is da bomb! GG took a screengrab we'd all seen eighteen billion times before and turned it into a classic cap. Un-frickin-believable.
Capper Comments: GG has always had a rare intelligence to his caps that I've long admired. Sure, he's a master of smut as well (and that's a compliment!) but when he wants to, GG can shoot out a cap that makes you think. He excels at well-thought out captions that stand up to the test of time. And there's no mistaking a GG caption. The pacing, the unique tone... yep. It's a Gulo. GG should be the poster boy for having your own capping style. He's always stayed true to himself and yet somewhere along the line he's picked up a reputation for being The Dark Captioneer. I've met the guy and he was quite friendly and in high spirits. Perhaps he owns an Acer or other such shitty computer that brings out his dark side. But I still want to put in a good note for his upbeat real-life persona. Sure, he almost killed me while trying to recreate the car chase scene from "Bullit" in the dead of the St Paul night but hey, it was fun. The biggest compliment I could dish out to GG would be the!
thing I notice the most about him: He always tries to do something new, every time he caps. That's as good as gold in my book.

Yes, boys and girls, it's the new song and dance sensation Obese Chesspiece! Watch out for his hit, "Twist? Let's Do Nothing!"

Caption Comments: Painting with bodily fluids...where's William Castle when ya need him.
Capper Comments: Always bet on the sure thing, that's Gulo. Every damn time I see him cap, I'm left wondering, to quote Nicholson: "Where does he get these wonderful toys?". I've burned bald spots into my head, scratching it and thinking about some of his caps.
And of course, never goes for the obvious, always admired that about him.
Highly original and a bent mind. There's no beating that fearsome twosome.

Caption Comments: It's not really representative of GuloGulo's style (for one thing, it's based on a pop culture reference), but the match of screengrab image to dialogue is so perfect that I couldn't bring myself to NOT pick this one.
Capper Comments: Besides having what may be the coolest-looking hair of all the Captioneers, GuloGulo's also got one of the funkiest handles. Look at all the ways you can write it! Call him GuloGulo to be formal, and if you're just hangin', you can call him Gulo. If you're pressed for space, knock it down to GG. Thinking of going the hipster route. He's GGulo. You probably shouldn't call him lolo, though, cuz that just sounds kinda dippy.
He's also knockdown funny. Whether they be arty and intellectual or pure sexual sleaze, Gulo's caps always come out of left field (and usually by surprise, since he lurks often and caps irregularly) and hit me in the side of the head, and I fall against the wall and break my neck as I slide down, ending up a crumpled, bleeding mess on the floor. Damn you, GuloGulo! Damn you and all you stand for! Look at what you've done to me! Argh! *frantically pushes button on motorized wheelchair and scoots away*
