Occupant

JediClone:

Caption Comments: Simple yet brilliant. And so true, at least to typical stereotypes about New Yorkers.
I kept laughing at this one at work at inapproriate times for the next couple of days after he wote it.

Capper Comments: Many late nights it's been just me and Occ or just us two and one other person capping for an hour or more. When the thrill of fastpaced capping to keep your joke from being swamped off the page before anyone reads it is gone, he doenst slow down and always keeps the spontinaity going.
...He's pretty good a photo manipulation too (shameles plug).

Occupant:
so f*ck off!
Jazzsoda:

Caption Comments: Classic Occ. Occupant really excels at capping head/torso shots for some reason, and this one is my favorite. I really believe this guy has body parts in his luggage.

Capper Comments: Occupant is just a relentless smartass, and you *have* to appreciate that. He doesn't wine you and dine you with his caps, it's BAM BAM BAM, straight funny into your junkie veins. Occ's caps aren't elaborate conspiracies of humor, they're flat-footed Old West gutshots in the street. Usually only one line or barely more, and always perfect for the picture. Occ's great caps never fail to catch me off guard with their simplicity and grace. Definitely the best example of the "classic" school of capping, minimalist and straightforward ...yet refined. Occ will tell you he's not a funny capper, but you're a fool if you don't know better! Send him an email! He does kids' birthday parties!

Occupant:
No, Betty's not here. She's not in the cellar stuffed in a duffelbag either so don't bother looking.

Caption Comments: I think Warner Brothers had some of the most ingenious comedy ever created in their heyday. I loved the old "Leopold!" jokes from a particular cartoon I cherished. How Occupant knew that was one of my favorite comic moments, extracted it, called upon the perfect screengrab and put it in the simplest form ever--one word that was an unmistakable beckoning to that cartoon--is beyond me. But way to go.

Capper Comments: Just when I thought I knew all the funniest people on the Caption This!--way back when--Occupant showed up with a name that just made me go "Huh? Okay..." and caps that knocked me flat on my ass. I couldn't believe all the effort and brilliance that seemed to go into them. They always killed me. I thought I was the master of obscurity until he and Art began capping Firesign Theater threads one night. Of course, Bick soon came along and kicked the shit out of all of us with sucker punch obscurity.
It's more than being a vault of pop culture the equivalent to Fort Knox, it's knowing how to use it, what way to phrase it, and just what will kill them all the time. Calling on "Galactica 80" for a cap would be enough for anyone  Occ always has a few more tricks up his sleeve.
He sometimes asks "How's my capping?" on any given night. Occ's just too humble to say "You know I fucked you all up with that last cap!"

Occupant:
Leopold!

Caption Comments: You'd have to have a pretty sick mind to write this caption. You'd have to have an pretty sick mind to put it in your gallery. Well, guilty as charged!

Capper Comments: I'll agree with Jazzsoda, Occ doesn't mess around when he caps. He gets down to business right away with his often dark, but unfailing sense of humor, and a knack for brevity. I don't cap with him particularly often, but my gallery is peppered with his caps already. Funny guy.

Occupant:
"And you'll stay in the hot box until you learn to tie your shoes. Damn kids!"
KINGDINOSAUR:

Caption Comments: Okay, time to educate some of you about a really weird organization. For those of you that aren't aware of what NAMBLA means, it's stands for North American Man Boy Love Association. A fancy name for same sex pedophilia. The funny thing about Occ's caption is that it so close to how one would imagine a NAMBLA member describing the organization to a very young new recruit.

Capper Comments: I made a reference in JoeCrow's comment section that I only remembered two handles during my first experience in CT! back in late 1996. Occupant was the other. I was impressed from the first night. Occ (or "Ock" as I use to call him based on learning to spell by reading Spider-man comics) never flooded the gallery as an excuse to keep his handle on the screen. He was meticulous with his wit and took the time to aim it with deadly accuracy. Sometimes cappers give you the feeling like they are using a shotgun technique at Caption This! Occupant always gives you the impression that he's playing darts.  The man is pretty damn good at hitting the bull's-eye, too.

Occupant:
Timmy, have you ever heard of NAMBLA? It's kinda like a cross between The Boys Club and the Catholic Church.
E_B_A:

Caption Comments: Occ is a true master of the subtle rub if you will. He sneaks little tinglers like this one into CT and they ALWAYS crack me up. He's quite a quiet guy so keep a lookout.

Capper Comments: Occupant is an enigma. He's VERY sneaky in his attack. Sometimes, it takes me several minutes to notice he's even THERE but once I do, I pay close attention. I have a hard drive FULL of Occupant caps and every one of them is pure comedy and genius in one twisted, little package. The man is truly one of the greats.

Occupant:
o/' Then one day, he was shootin' at some classmates . . .
BuckFifty:

Caption Comments: A freaky Top Gun, Knight Rider, Black Dog mixed cap? Or am I just reading too much into it? With Occ, you never know...

Capper Comments: Occ's been around forever. One of the few people who can spin the proverbial straw into gold. Always a treat to share the Gallery with him.

Occupant:
Elwood detects a squadron of Migs on his semi's head's-up display and goes for the CB!
Artanas:

Caption Comments: Had to look twice at this one to get it...

Capper Comments: Behold the cornerstone of CT.

Occ's one of the first friends I made on CT (if not the first, then second, don't remember much from those strange days *THUD*), and still one of the best. I'm amazed that for over 2 years this captioneer has continually made me laugh at his caps, now that's a sure sign of unholy talent considering my attention level.

With such a broad-based humor, the handle suits him. He can be downright evil with some caps (like the endless John Wayne Gacy/NAMBLA gags) then bend to strange territories (bappa anyone?) and right into the land of niceties (Bucky for example). Being able to do this on a regular schedule for over 2 years and still come up with original stuff is truly admirable.

Ofcourse that also goes for his Waste Of Bandwidth site. Ah, my first partner site....
first one's always the most special...
the most magical...
er...
uh...
yeah...

Occupant:
Those psychics are totally lame. Mine said I was going to die right in the middle of

Caption Comments: I love berating sliders...  And Occ has the magic touch with these guys!

Capper Comments: What can be said about Occupant that hasn't already been said?  Funny, snappy dresser, and oh-so-minty fresh and full of life, Doc Occ is a die-hard capper with a rapier wit and a large repetoire of pop culture under his belt.  Occ can find a good joke lurking within the most keogh of screengrabs any day of the week.  I tip my hat to you, good sir!

Occupant:
There HAS to be a good idea for a Sliders script in here somewhere!!! Keep looking! Maybe under that banana peel!
AgentQ:

Caption Comments: A perfect representative of Occ's style, this cap is. One sentence, a person doing something monumentally stupid, and great names for the people in question. Not to mention the fact that it's fall-on-your-ass funny.

Capper Comments: Nobody, and I mean nobody, does the one-liner better than Doc Occ here. Despite his moniker, Occupant has one of the most distinctive capping styles of the bunch  there's little mistaking of an Occ cap for anybody else's. They all have that punch, that zing, that how-you-say..."pup"? No. Poop! Pop. That's it. Pop. That pop to it that...eh...I've lost my point. Suffice to say, Occ is one of the greats, one of the classics, a guy who's been there from early on and knows the score, and a guy who, when you shorten his handle, it comes out sounding like a Scot about to launch into a cussing fit. Imagine all the great jokes he could have told if his computer didn't kick him off after every third cap! Lousy sassafrassin' technology.

Occupant:
Totally unclear on the concept, Blanche held Sam's head firmly against the pillow, knowing soon the pillow would be dead.
