Windig and de Jong are two genius guys from somewhere in or near Amsterdam. They are the best! They must have (had) a lot of fun drawing these cartoons!! The three main characters of the cartoon actually are (were) their pets. Heinz and Frits -both cats- died unfortunately, but Jodocus the tortoise lives on (at least, he was alive in 1994...) In 1992 they won the biggest Dutch Cartoon prize, the "Stripschapprijs" for Heinz. |

Heinz
It's probably unknown to everybody when Heinz was created, but his first appearance in his very own cartoon was at the 2nd of january 1987. No that's not true... It's eight days later, on the 10th, that he first appears. In the first seven episodes he wasn't even in his own cartoon... Before 1987 he was the cat of some kind of punker called Rockin' Belly in a cartoon called...."Rockin' Belly" The real Heinz was a bit of a dumb cat and he was blind to one eye. As you can see the likeness is striking. Since his 'entrance' in 1987 'till now (february 2003 ) Heinz has starred
in twenty-three comic books and one 'Jubileum uitgave' for the 6 3/4th anniversary
of his cartoon... Unfortunately Windig en De Jong have stopt drawing Heinz :( |
