Star Trek V (1993)
was intended to be the first full length feature archive by Jackson
and Kurt. We had just finished up The Star Trek IV Themed Mio
Video, and were very excited about doing it. We decided to do
our own version of the campfire scene from the beginning of Paramount's
Star Trek V. Unfortunately, we were very much amateurs at
the time, and we began filming, totally unprepared. Jackson played
the parts of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Uhura. Kurt played the parts
of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. We thought we knew the lines, but we didn't.
It turned out very stupid, because we started making up our own lines,
such as, "Hey, you want some more beans?".
Star Trek V was filmed
in the basement of Jackson's house. Some of the crudities of this
film was the flashlight campfire, four parts covered by two people, and
the painted backdrop, and, of course, who could forget Jackson's memorable
portrail of Uhura. If there was a bright spot of this film, it was
the excellent job done by Jackson's brother, Jedd Price behind the camera.
This was the first film that Jedd helped out with, but not the last; he
has been very helpful over the years. Unfortunately, the videotape
that this film was recorded on has been lost. We haven't seen it
for over four years. Because of this, it is very hard to put any
pictures or sounds on this particular page.

Fun Fact

This was the first and last Archive to use an external sound source for
the soundtrack music. (No post production in this one! That's
right, we actually had a CD player playing the music while we acted out
the parts!)
