Knowing

     She wakes up each morning

Her head full of dreams,

Knowing that life is not what it seems.

     Heading for school

She looks to the rear,

Knowing each day she must face all her fears.

     After hitting the books

She heads for each class,

Knowing that God is helping her pass.

     Her problems are many,

Packed against her so tight,

Knowing the answers lie just out of sight.

     Her love, it is touching,

She makes it all true,

Knowing she'll end up alone and a fool.

      Her past and her present

Make her want to roam,

Knowing she lives in a broken home.

     She takes a deep breath,

Her very last,

Knowing her life is a thing of the past.

    Whenever she needed me,

I was always there,

Knowing how much I really did care.

But the day will soon come,

I'll see her again,

Knowing that Angels can still be best friends.
