The Imperial Army, 47th IEF, expanded during the first 6 months of operation, broken down into eight squads operating with a capacity of twelve members each.
Each team leader was in charge of recruitment and rankings of his or her own unit, also having the task of sorting out any problems if required. Within the next few months, each team developed their own personality and characteristics.
Beta Squad, the second of the eight that was created, quickly became known for their strength, moral, and virtue held high above all else. A person within this team could always be expected to drop whatever they may be currently doing to aid another, be it a squad mate, division comrade, or a stranger on the street as it was customary for any IA member to do so. Over the course of the Galatic Civil War, Beta Squad took it upon themselves time and time again to stay a little closer to the PA Hall or Command Center. During assaults and unexpected raids, Beta Squad would often be the first to take up a primary defense position. As the other squads celebrated at the local cantina after another victory, Beta remained ever vigilant.
Being a crucial factor in the defense system, this particular team has frequently been called up to protect and escort various trade shipments, shielding top classified documents, and protecting key officials in the IA Command Staff. Because of their dedication and their understood role of security, the call name for Beta Squad became Iron Guard.
The war continued, new members have enlisted and veteran members have retired, the founding roster is almost nonexistent. Iron Guard is no longer the primary defense squad, as security is now a division wide responsibility, and as a result, Beta partakes in more offensive tactics then accustomed, meeting the rebels head on in the battlefield. Though their chief obligation was been modified, their sense of duty and loyalty will never weaken.
