First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

Gadzooks!  I have blabbered on and on and on here... but hey.. there's lots of interesting stuff about many of our friends, so I hope you don't mind all the interesting gossip!

ELNR is traveling to New York for a wedding and won't be back until Monday, and we hope she's having a MARVELOUS time!

CajunQJ (Doris) is a bit under the weather and doesn't want to make the long drive from San Diego, but she says she will make every effort to be with us next time.

Sending out some special prayers and vibes for ShyRedFox (Judie) and her son, Jeff, who is finishing up chemo and about to start rads.  Judie is a very special SeniorNet friend and a very special person who has done a lot of good for others through her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Also sending out some special prayers and wishes for healing to Emily, Earl's (EMNEarl) wife, who is recovering from complications from what started out to be some "minor" surgery.

How great to welcome some new folks to our luncheon!  First timers were:

BStone1055 (Bob), who came all the way from Hesperia.  Bob said he's used to the trip because he works at the VW dealership in Ontario.  How great to get to know you, Bob!  Bob found out about us from YvonneB88, also a newcomer today.

Dodie32, who came all the way from Palm Springs with DesertLady33.  Nice to see you today and we hope to see you often!  Dodie and Dee brought a huge bag of toys that were sent by WisdomR3 (Rita) for Bob Pettit to share with "his" kids, bless her heart!

Charlie's (CWP157) Betty, whom I had already met but this was her first time at our luncheon. She had gone home to WV to take care of some details, planning to return in three months.. but true love won out and she returned sooner.  It's so nice to have her back among us.  Charlie and Betty plan to marry in the near future... stay tuned for more gossip and details!

YvonneB88, who is practically my neighbor in Corona.  She's a Special Education teacher in Corona and plans to retire next June, whereupon she plans to move home to Minnesota.  She's a real doll and I will be happy to have her for a local friend while she's still here and an email pal after she moves home.  Hope some of our friends in Minnesota will get in touch and get to know her, too! She found out about us from RodWoods but Rod wasn't at our luncheon today, so I hope everything is okay with Rod (and Nancy, too!) and that they get to meet next time.

We sure do appreciate all of those who attend and I'm awstruck at those who travel such long distances in the extreme heat.   I really look forward to getting together with my online friends each month and I for sure plan to continue even after I start school in September.

How super to see that PerkyCA (Joyce) has healed up so quickly after her fall!  She's looking really good now!

Glad to welcome Mac home after his trip to Iowa, where, he tells us, he fell in love.  Stay tuned for more details on that, too!  I'll be snoopy and see if I can pry the romantic details out of him... LOL!

Also nice to see Max home safe and sound after his trip to Rhode Island!  Hope to hear more about both of these guys and their trips!  And maybe they will share some photos so I can share them with the visitors on this site!

VistaGal (Virginia) has a travel business, so if you're in the market for some traveling, be sure and visit her site!  There's always a link to her site at the end of each bunch of luncheon pages. Virginia said she was happy the luncheon was moved this month because last Saturday we would have found her at her son's beautiful wedding in Mammoth!  What a gorgeous place to have a wedding!

BPettit (Bob) is being featured in a newsletter for Loma Linda University Hospital and he has shared some of the photos with me.  They follow the luncheon photos.  When the article is published, he will also share that with us.  He's one of our favorite angels, working as a volunteer with terminally ill children at LLU Hospital.

I just returned from a 10-day camping trip in the High Sierras, courtesy of my daughter, Kato, and her lovely family.  That's why I set up the luncheon a week late this month.  Had a marvelous time "roughing it" in a HUGE 5th-wheel with all the luxuries.  I've put a few photos after the luncheon photos, in case you're interested in seeing them.  I took way over a hundred photos but I picked out just a few (WHEW!) so you can see my traveling companions and some of the sights.  This was a really nostaligic trip for me — I had not been to Kings Canyon in 42 years and never thought I'd be there again.  And being just about 35 miles from "home" was pretty nostalgic, too.  From my home in the Sierras (a bit further north) is what I mean.

Sure do miss TonerKing (Bill) and RosalynG (Ros) and hope they can be back with us soon.  Ros has been through an awful lot  with the cancer treatment and was sheduled to start radiation yesterday (Friday).  Keep the prayers and good vibes and well-wishes coming!

Another newcomer hopeful, Sugar plum4u1665, would like to attend our luncheons but has a vision problem that prevents her from driving.  She lives in Orange County, near Katella and Collins on Glassell.  If anyone can help,  send her or me an email.  I'm not exactly sure what city that is, but anyone from that area will know.

We sure hope YOU get a chance to  be with us next time!

This bunch of pages also includes a special page at the end for a very special person.  Don't miss Heather's Page!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

We always miss (and gossip about) those who can't attend... and we always have a good time with those who CAN.

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them larger and still have them load quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
