Heather's Page
Nope... this isn't a luncheon photo. This is a photo of a very special person, followed by a very special request. I hope you will bear with me on this. An artist friend of mine is part of a committee to help Heather and I told him I would put up a page for her on our SGGAF site and let all my pals know about it.
Please don't copy and paste this into an email because things sometimes change and get out of control that way and people continue receiving things long after the need has passed. If you have friends who would like to help, please send them a link to this page to get the information about it. Please read the information following the photo for more details about Heather, the project, etc.
This is the text of the e-mail from my friend, Lorne, who has asked me to help his committee help Heather.
"I had a visitor, (Heather) a few days ago and thought I would send you a photo of her, she is really a happy person.
She is 27 years old but has the mentality of a 7-8 years old and is very aware of her condition. I was amazed .
What a memory she has, it is astonishing. Heather started saving 'Lapel Pins' since the age of 7. She got her first 'Lapel Pin' from an Uncle in 1981-82 and fell in love with them.
Now she is trying to catch up to a man in Toronto who has 25,000.
She has over 14,000 pins and remembers nearly all the people she got them from, even by mail.
If you wish to, ask your friends to help her and post her picture, just to show the people it is no hoax. When I told her I would ask you she went bonkers at the idea of her picture going all over the world.
She sure is one happy girl, laughs all the time. Even at the people who make fun of her and call her names.
All the Best to you,
Lorne"
For obvious reasons, we don't want to publish Heather's address on the internet, so Lorne gave me permission to post his address for anyone who wants to send a lapel pin or pins for Heather. This is what he said...
"'Thank You' letters will be sent from Heather if a return address is included. The pins can be sent to me at :
Lorne Warner
92 Farquhar Place
Elliot Lake Ontario Canada
p5a 3h9
I don't mind who sees my address, it's in the phone book anyway. And I'm too old to worry.
Thank You for your help.
Lorne "
Good site. No fee.
Navigation is easy. Registration is free. The BHS
Alumni Scholarship Fund benefits every time someone clicks here, goes directly
there, and registers on Alumni.net. It's FREE! BHS is dear
to my heart because I went there and I am webmaster for that site and spend
most of my time working on it these days... LOLOL!! You won't believe
what fun it is to find old pals or just find people who attended the same
school and have the same kinds of memories that YOU have. Heck... by
this time, I have no idea who wasn't a friend of mine. You can
also check out other grad years, other schools, etc. and there is a messaging
system for contacting people. All free, unlike some sites!
Well, this is the end of the pictures from this luncheon. Sure has been fun sharing them with you all and we hope to have YOU with us next time!
The "NEXT" button below will take you back to the beginning of this section of luncheon pictures.
VistaGal's site is always very nice and very well done. VistaGal's Seniors Photo Gallery.
Another great site to visit for pictures of senior gatherings is Warren 88's site. Warren is one of the best cheerleaders for gatherings you ever saw. He and his wife, Roberta, winter in Mesa, AZ, and summer in Rockford, IL, and he sure keeps the seniors entertained a lot in both locations. Warren88's site Warren's site includes pictures of chatters from SeniorNet, Sixty Is Something, AARP, and others.
And still another great site is Marilyn's Place, which has hundreds of pictures of AARP chatters, gatherings, etc. That link is to her alphabetical index of photos.
