First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

First, let me apologize for the tardiness of this report and pictures.. I have been buried in homework and only just now got a chance to work on the pictures and build the site.  This will be briefer than usual because I am really short of time.  Mid-terms are next week!  YIKES!!!

October 6 was just another day of wonderful weather for a picnic at Tom's Farms!  Lots of confusion because of changing back and forth from first to second Saturday and then back again, but some brave souls still made it and we had another nice visit.

It was great to have Mac (MciScot) with us once again... in between his gallivanting trips back and forth to Iowa.  And also good to hear that his doctors are getting their stories straight... or trying to!

We missed seeing the newlyweds, Charlie  (CWP157) and BettyAnn780 (Betty), who were married on the 29th of September in Riverside and are now on a trip back to West Virginia to get Betty's things and bring them back to California.

We also missed seeing Bill and Rosalyn (TonerKing and RosalynG) because of a conflict in schedules, but we are BEYOND happy to report to you that Rosalyn is now CANCER FREE!!!   NO more chemo... NO more radiation!  This is the best news ever!  Ros and I talked on the phone and we could hardly laugh for crying and cry for laughing.

Got some good news from KidKidd (Jamie) also and he is home and doing well and reports he is recovering nicely from his recent colon cancer surgery.

My news is also good - my recent chest and abdomen scan was totally clear... again no sign of any regrowth of any tumors or other weird happenings.  So now I see the oncologist on Wednesday, October 24th, and then I graduate to doctor visits every six months!  I am at long last getting my life back.  And I will be so grateful not to have to see four different docs and have a bazillion different tests and stuff every dang minute.  Now maybe I can travel now and again (when I am not in school!)  I am halfway through the semester and I'm 4.0 so far and I even have one official A+ in a 7-week class!  And the best part is that all this walking up and down hills at school, albeit slowly, is making me stronger and stronger every day.

We are all just praising and praising and we want everyone to know that prayer works and God has blessed us all INDEED!  We all thank everyone for continuing prayers and support and encouragement... and for good vibes from those who aren't of the praying persuasion!

Nice to have Lotsa000 (Nancy) and Rodwoods with us again!  Rod is such a hoot.. we all found out that he is a genius at Rubik's Cube and you will see a picture of a flag he made out of a whole bunch of them.  I was absolutely amazed at how fast he can figure that out... I tried and tried and was never able to do it even ONCE, so I'm mortally impressed!

Last time I reported that TonerKing and RosalynG weren't with us because they went to The Big Spin. Also reported that their daughter won a chance at the wheel and they went to cheer her on.  Well, I was wrong on BOTH counts.  Actually, it turned out that they couldn't go after all because Ros was in the hospital and it wasn't their daughter, it was her father-in-law.  He won $10,000, though, so that was nice.

Good to see PerkyCA and RenoBarn again, but they left their baby "girls" home, so we didn't get to see them this time.

My youngest daughter (Ali) and her 2-year-old (Drewie) have just moved back to CA from Henderson, NV, and they attended the luncheon with me.  I totally spaced on getting photos because they were walking around seeing the sights, so I will be including some other recent ones for you to see.  We were hanf an hour late because of delay in blood work I had to have before my scan the following Tuesday and then Drewie was ill and we had to leave earlier than usual to take him to the Urgent Care ,but he is doing well on antibiotics and getting better now.

Montyxiii says that he may be able to make it down to have lunch with us after the holidays and we'll sure keep you posted.  Monty (Bill aka Zopilote) is one of my dearest friends (I even have a grandson named after him!)  Without his support and encouragement, I would not be in school right now, and I am really grateful to him.  I hope he makes it down here for a visit so I can lay some BIG TIME hugs on him!

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!

If you have not seen it before, be sure to visit Heather's Page!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

We always miss (and gossip about) those who can't attend... and we always have a good time with those who CAN.

Who attended?
*means this is not a screen name

Ali (LadyZinnia's youngest daughter) — Henderson, NV
Drew Sun Li (LadyZinnia's grandboy)
LadyZinnia (Zinny) — Corona
Lotsa000 (Nancy) — Diamond Bar
MciScot (Mac) Corona
RenoBarn (Barney) and PerkyCA (Joyce) — Corona
RodWoods  — N. Hollywood

It is always so sweet to see old friends, meet new friends, and to put faces together with screen names for online pals we've talked to but have not met before.  Lots of pals were otherwise occupied today, and if you weren't able to attend,

WE MISSED YOU!

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them larger and still have them load quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
