Will Smith, recording star, TV  star, and movie star was born in  Philadelphia, Pa. on September 25, 1968. His given name was  Willard Smith II but he received   his nick name "Prince" from the teachers he managed to charm.  He added "Fresh" later. Will teamed up with Jeff Townes at a party and began performing together as DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. He had been rapping since he was 12 years old. When he started making money from his records he spent a great deal of it on material things. He was already looking for new challenges in 1989 when he met Benny Medina who had an idea for a sitcom based on Will's life in Beverly Hills.  NBC loved the idea and the hit sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" was born. The role based his life, lasted 6 years; with him playing a street-smart West Philly kid who moves to Beverly Hills. His foray into films started with Six Degrees of Seperation in 1993, the action movie Bad Boys in 1995. His latest blockbuster was Independence Day in which he plays a Marine Corps pilot Captain Steven Hiller who defends his country by fighting aliens. 
Personal facts: He is 6 ft. 2 inches tall, his sun is in Libra and Moon in Scorpio. His son nicknamed "Trey" (Williard Smith III), was born in 1992. Will's father, Willard Smith Sr., was the owner of a refrigeration company and later became an engineer. His mother, Caroline, was a school board worker. He is the 2nd of four children. He graduated from Overbrook High School in middle class West Philadelphia. His brother Harry and Ellen are a twin. He appeared in the music video and sang lead vocals on the song Voices That Care. He also appeared in the TV show Blossom in 1991 as himself.
