Asus K7M .... Pesky board fond of blue screens of death and hates Ge Force Cards. couldn't get Elsa to run stable, most reliable Ge Force card on K7M was Leadtek Winfast DDR Ge force actually runs stable at 2x and Side band enabled! Bios Updates will be on Asus page.

08/07/2000...... The main difference between an ASUS K7V and K7V-T is Asus soldered resistors to back of motherboard. The put these resistors where CPU plugs in. By doing this they have changed the timing required to run Tbird CPU's. I have tested this m/b with 700 thru 1000 mhz cpus and have found all to be 100 percent stable. The only draw back I had with this m/b is geting windows to load on first attempt. It seems that you need to get the VIA agp 4.03 driver package in it to solve mouse freezes and windows lock ups. I have also had trouble running the official K7V-T bioses. The boards I have seem to run better with the original k7v bioses. At this time I have yet to install final 1007t bios. Plan to do that later today.

Since I hate long article that seem to cover the same info about each m/b I will just be giving you my overall impression and reliablity of this m/b. Once you finally get windows in and find proper bios this board is as smooth as they come. I had originally imported this board to test and sell but since i have been using it the last 2 weeks I have been impressed with the overall performance and the lack of headaches that so many boards seem to have. If your looking for a very good motherboard to run your slot A tbirds look no further, your prayers have been answered by Asus. I am currently running 750 cpu that has 900 core with tweaking device 2 attached. Have multiplier set to 10.0x and core votlts at 1.85. I also have FSB running at 105 and memory running at 133mhz. My only complaint is when you increase front side bus it also increases memory clock. Example 105 fsb give you memory clock of 138 if your running memory at pc133. So this tends to limit how high you can raise FSB without lookups. I wish Asus would give you the seperate option that Abit gives us by lettting you only raise FSB without increasing PCI or memory clock.

Bios dated June 7th version 1007_01a. The next is dated June 14th version 1007kvba. I also have version 1006 which is dated May 26th and last link will be version 1006kvbc dated on May 25th.
