| UHS enjoyed a slow rise to platinum status, with the work's primary marketing being word of mouth. The first single, "Til The Cops Come Knocking," (TTCCK) was his first choice, over his manager's choice "Ascension". TTCCK didn't do well; however "Ascension", true to it's name, quickly rose up the charts and put Maxwell in the position of "Savior of R and B". In 1997, Maxwell began his first major U.S. tour and was welcomed by thousands of grateful appreciators, thankful that true sensuality and a calling for real and monogamous Love was not lost in the music. | ![]() |
