Progress so far
With the start of the year 2000 we have completed our first year of ownership of the field now known as Kingsland Millennium Green. One year on we have planted the trees, bulbs and wild flower plugs, completed hedging, set the paths and have almost completed the base for the children's play area, held up only by the winter weather. We have also installed a fence and created a small car park, and planning permission has been granted for erecting a shelter on the site of the old bakery ( now demolished). The majority of the labour for this work has been voluntary by both amateur and professional villagers, young and old with most of the purchases being covered by specific donations and grants. We are looking forward to the spring when the leaves and flowers will begin to show.
