33103 is a class 33/1 locomotive that was used for Push-Pull working of 4TC coach sets over the non electrified mainline from Bournemouth to Weymouth until 1987.

33103 (D6514) "SWORDFISH" HISTORICAL NOTES.
1961 (JAN) 33103 was built by Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company and started its working life numbered as D6514 in BR green with light grey roof and off white window surrounds with a 3 inch wide off white stripe along the middle of the body sides which extended round the cab fronts.
1963 yellow warning panels were added to the BR Green livery.
1966 D6514 was fitted with high level jumpers, three piece end handrails, gangway vestibule rubbing plates, drophead buckeye couplers and large diameter retractable Oleo buffers for Push-Pull working over the non electrified mainline from Bournemouth to Weymouth. The tail lights were also removed as the red headcode blinds were considered to be sufficient. A small socket was also fitted to the cab fronts to power the warning bell and flashing light used for working boat trains along the line on Weymouth Quay.
1968 D6514 was repainted in allover BR blue with full yellow ends.
1972 D6514 was renumbered to the TOPS scheme receiving number 33103

1989 (MAR) 33103 moved to Eastleigh Works for main engine repairs.
1997 (FEB) 33103 was withdrawn and passed into private ownership being sold to Cambrian Trains.
1997 33103 Cambrian Trains returned 33103 to the mainline being used mostly on charter train workings.
1999 (AUG) 33103 was hired by Silverlink for a few days to operate Barking - Gospel Oak services with 3 TC coach set. The 3 TC set was formed from the only surviving 4 TC set, unit number 417 in overall rail blue livery. (running without its TFK coach)
2000 33103 was stored out of use at Ilford before being overhauled and returned to mailine use in Fragonset black livery.
2001 33103 Owned by Cambrian Trains mostly used on charter train workings.
2002 (MAR) 33103 joined Fragonset fleet.
2002 (NOV 24) 33103 operated by Fragonset, now named SWORDFISH, on lease to South West Trains, based at Salisbury for crew training and ECS workings. Now carries Fragonset allover black with red stripe and full width yellow warning panel from below the cab windows. (as seen above)
2003 (DEC) 33103 used to move new Desiro 450xxx sets to/from Bournemouth depot for testing between Wareham - Weymouth and to Woking for high speed Desiro testing.
2003 (MAR 29) 33103 + 33202 + 73109 worked Desiro 450007 from Bournemouth depot to Woking for overnight high speed tests between Woking and Winchfield. 73109 "Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary" was returned to Woking as part of this train after assisting the 18:03 Waterloo-Poole service to it's destination on March 28th.
2003 (MAR 31) 33103 hauled Desiro 450007 back to Bournemouth Depot.
