To start off this page I will include my fathers system.

His website is dedicated to the Hull Side-Trawler, the 'Arctic Corsair'. This is his first website and it is coming along great. I have of course, been helping him out on some points, but for the most part it is all of his own work.

Listens to:I have similar interests in music as Mick. I like folk music such as Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. But I would say that my staple diet of music these days must lie in Country Music.
Having said that, Mick is turning me on to a good many artists that I would never have listened to before.
Opinions of my System:
I have been listening to music over many years and this is my best system to date.
My first separate system was purchased back in the late 80's and comprised a Pioneer CD-Changer unit, Pioneer Receiver and a pair of Jamo D113 Speakers. The speakers left a lot be desired and the Receiver had an annoying habit of the volume slider causing a terrible crackling noise due to dust on the pot.
I got my current system when Mick upgraded his system. He donated the gear to my cause and I have been happy with it ever since.
A most recent upgrade was the TDL RTL3 loudspeakers. Mick had been saying to me for a while to get on and upgrade my speakers but I wasn't all that interested. When Mick got his Quad's, I put the TDL RTL3's in my system and what a difference it makes!
The next significant upgrade was when Mick upgraded yet again! He moved over to valve amps which left him with the Audiolab Pre and the Rotel Powers going spare. Along with the Quad speakers, the ante had be upped one again.

Listens to:
Electronic music. I am primarily into DJ mixtapes. I am specifically interested in the progressive house style. My current favourite DJ's include Jon Bishop, DJ Dan, John Digweed, Richard Humpty Vision and Paul Oakenfold.
Opinions of my system:
With the recent addition of the NHT Super2's I have been very happy. These loudspeakers are gorgeous with warm highs and mid frequencies and very nice low tight bass, and everything in one nice floorstander (which looks very nice too).
As you can also see I am a big tweaker. I want to get the very best from my system.because I believe when manufacturers design their equipment there are always budget restrictions and the overall product has some shortcomings, mainly isolation and chassis vibrations. Thus I apply various tweaks to try to remedy this.
Overall my system makes me feel happy and relaxed. But the system also has enough balls to start up a dance party.

Turntable REGA Planar 3 with Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. CD Players Yamaha CDX-493
Pioneer PD-106MiniDisc recorder Sony MDS-JE520 Loudspeakers Tannoy Mercury M2.5 Interconnects All QED Qnect2 Speaker cable QED QDOS I have had this system for about 6 months, having got fed up with the poor sound my Midi system was giving me. I have all ways liked the sound of valves, and since starting work, have been able to afford all the parts to make a really good set-up. My amplifying section will, for the seeable future get upgraded quite a bit. I find building the amps yourself helps find the sound you like. The turntable is a must as I find that the sound from vinyl is much warmer and detailed to that from a CD.The sound quality is absolutely brilliant, the bass is strong, but not boomy and does not seem restricted, Mid range is extremely detailed, crisp and clear. Treble maybe on the course side Sometimes, but overall it seems well balanced. Stereo imaging, and depth of this system, I can only liken to being at were-ever, the track was recorded, especially when listening to a live recording.
I like music from country, Rock, some Chart music but I can't stand dance music (Night club crap) although I do have a couple CDs they are really only for parties. I like music from the 60's right through to 80's classics such as "Eye of the tiger", "Mickey" etc. I have all of pink floyds albums but don't really know what you would classify them as?
If you would like your system to be added to this page then please e-mail at the address at the bottom of this page. The only stipulation is that you must have a separate system and not some hoary boombox etc.
