About Frederick Amling Frederick Amling, the founder of Amling & Company, Inc., has been in investment management for the past 30 years advising individuals, corporations, universities and financial institutions. A graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, he has an MBA from Miami University (Ohio), and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been a professor at Miami University (Ohio), the University of Connecticut, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Maine, the University of Rhode Island and The George Washington University. In addition to his extensive professional investment management experience, he has gained public recognition in the financial field as an author, speaker, lecturer and TV personality. This includes TV programs on Investments and Economics with NBC Channel 4 in Washington, DC and other US channels, the FNN Money talk show, and a six-part series on personal financial planning at The George Washington University's TV center. He has written five books, including seven editions of Investments, published by Prentice-Hall, two editions of The Dow Jones-Irwin Guide to Personal Financial Planning with William Droms, and three editions of Investments by Richard D. Irwin. He has been frequently quoted on "Heard on the Street" in the Wall Street Journal and Medical Economics on economic and investment policy matters. He has given the Hightower lecture on Investments at Emory University. Fred has made presentations at Baldwin Wallace College and The George Washington University and has spoken before the members of the Florida Economics Club and Sheboygan Economics Club. He has presented papers to the national and chapter meetings of AIMR. His comments appeared in Sylvia Porter's Money Magazine. He brings a unique combination of talents to the investment management discipline. |
