Welcome to Southern Perennials & Herbs!!!
Please click here for information on online ordering.
We're glad you stopped by for a visit! We hope you enjoy browsing our catalog. Here you'll find descriptions of hundreds of rare, unusual, and distinctive plants, along with the more common ones. We grow plants that thrive in the Deep South, with a great many that are adaptable to other areas. Our interests are broad, but a few of our specialties are Salvias, Gingers, Louisiana Irises, native plants, vines, and unusual shrubs. We have large selections of Butterfly Bush, Aster, Abutilon, and Dianthus. You will see links, at the end of many of the descriptions, to images of the plants.
Our nursery was started in 1987 as wholesale-only. Today we are the largest specialty grower of herbaceous perennials in Mississippi, and one of the largest such specialty growers in the southeastern USA. Being a large specialty grower does not, however, make us such a large nursery! We are still basically a "Mom & Pop" operation. Our growing area is about 1½ acres of outside sun and shade house blocks, and 6000 square feet of greenhouse space. We began offering plants at retail through mail order in early 1994, and were one of the first nurseries on the Web in mid-April, 1995. Our goal has always been to supply high quality plants at reasonable prices, and to have the widest selection possible. We want you to be happy with your purchase, and we will do whatever it takes to insure that you're satisfied.
