Okay, Now what does the music indicate to you?� Uh huh...You've got it...I want to break free from work !!!
But, do I really think it's possible?� Guess not...unless I strike the jackpot or lottery� ~:)
So, in order to have $$$ for future travels and also to use the knowledge that I have learnt throughout my school days, get the "old rusty" typewriter out and start typing that resume.� Well, at least that's what I did...
Actually, I have been working during my secondary school holidays but more on a part time basis and also to earn some pocket money.� Supermarket sales assistant, painter, day labourer in the oil palm plantation, and get this, selling cosmetic products.� I can remember selling more products in a day than the sales girl did in a whole week...strange isn't it...
Okay now back to the future...
I got my first formal job just one month after I graduated and it is an Internal audit position in a shipyard cum engineering cum manufacturing company.� Stayed in this company for about 3 years and I loved the experience there.� Not many people would have the opportunity of going onboard an offshore oil rig or living quarters (before they are towed out to sea and anchored to the sea floor) or the experience of walking on the decks of an ocean going crude oil tanker.
I landed my next job as an accountant in a garments manufacturing company where the company manufactures branded garments under licence.� Must be wondering what brands right?� Okay, they are Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Fila, Champion, Warner Brothers, Greg Norman, Eddie Bauer, Gap, just to name "a few"...� ~;p
So what do I have in my wardrobe???� You make a guess...
It's an interesting industry and now I know why those branded stuff is so expensive ! The number of quality controls that they have to go through, from the raw fabric quality to the final workmanship makes the final product many classes above those that you get at the night or day markets...
But...some defective products still manage to slip through the hands of the QC inspectors and land themselves on the shelves of departmental stores...�� ~:)
I quit about 3 years on the job and it was just a few months before the Asian economic crisis hit the region...
Back to Internal audit for 2 years and recently changed portfolio and am now in Finance Department doing JD Edwards stuff.� Interesting area but many things to learn and I'm now hands on solving day to day matters...Phew ! Tough life...
What company you might ask...?� Let's put it this way, I get free movie tickets and discounted bowling games and I'm in the entertainment industry.� It's a public listed company in Singapore with subsidiaries in Malaysia.
What industry will I go next? � I really dunno and it also depends�whether the prospective employer wants to employ me or not...� ~:p

All work and no play makes Edward a dull boy...Let's go and see what I do during my free time...
