In 1991 a young student at University of Helsinki studying computer science began a quest to find a suitable Unix-Like operating system for the Intel architecture. With no sufficient choices available, Torvalds began to write his own, eventually releasing it on the internet for public comsumption. I have had Linux on my system now for over a year, it dual boots with Win 95. I have some of my favourite links here, they helped me so I hope they can to it for you.
