Degrees

Degrees are awarded according the standard format in both American and European institutions. All degrees awarded by Woodchurch University are EARNED degrees, they CANNOT simply be purchased. It is, however, possible for many people to earn their degree without having to complete any further work or study, provided that their prior learning and life experience is deemed sufficient to allow the award to be made.

Bachelors are normally the first level of graduation for a student. Following A.I.S.C. practice, an applicant would need a minimum of three, preferably four years life experience in a relevent area to warrant the award of a Bachelors degree. For example, a sales assistant working in a hypermarket for four years would qualify for an award of Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Business Studies in Sales and Marketing. A soldier serving four years regular service in the military would qualify for a Bachelor of Science in Military Studies.

Masters are normally awarded after at least five years experience. For instance an American living for five years in Paris could opt to apply for a Master of Arts in French or a Master of Arts in European Studies.

Doctorates require seven years experience, as outlined above as well as an accredited publication. Publications can be in the printed form such as a pamphlet on your local town for tourists or it can be a website.

Professorships are available under two distinct regimes.

Associate professorships can be obtained in a similar way to doctorates and are subject to a full assessment. An associate professor carries FULL ACADEMIC accreditation by Woodchurch University. Consequently, applications for associate professorships would normally only be entertained from an applicant already holding a minimum of a master degree from an institution accredited by the A.I.S.C.

Honorary professorships are available on application and for a fee. They may be purchased by a third party as a gift if desired. Honorary professorships, while granting excellent prestige to the recipient, DO NOT carry academic accreditation by the University.
