![]() On May 30th, 1994 it was the Kuna and Lipa to replace Croatian Dinar, which used to be the temporary currency for the period of Croatia gaining its political and economy independence.
Kuna (The skin of marten or mink) used to be an ancient means of payment in Croatia during the medevial centuries. The earliest currencies still counts in the value of the Kuna skins.
The most remarkable noblemen of Croatian history and culture are printed on the Kuna banknotes. On the coins are the most representative species of flora and fauna of Croatia.
Paper money (Kuna): 5 kn, 10 kn, 20 kn, 50 kn, 100 kn, 200 kn, 500 kn, 1000 kn
