No, We Are Not Surrendering
(Dixie Battle plans)

Yes, I was hurt too, Dixie. Mad enough to spit nails. But it's time to
brush
the dust off ourselves, regroup, and move forward. I have seen much of the
commentary on how many people feel about the Georgia Flag vote. I know
many of you are ready to give up. Frankly, so am I. But, the only thing I
am
prepared to give up, is the way we're fighting. It's time to adopt a bold
course. So, c'mon Southern Brothers - let's get to work.

From Appomattox to Atlanta, we have suffered defeat after defeat. Since
this is, to some degree, an ongoing war, let's look at this mess from a
battlefield strategy.

First, our weaknesses (their strength):

We've learned from the Georgia mess that this is not about race, but
money and extortion -- pure and simple. The enemy will, of course, keep
reminding everyone that it IS a racial issue in order to keep us on the
defensive,
and the morale of their troops up. But in reality, it's about money.

We are being ambushed on multiple fronts by the well funded enemy. Thus,
the time for recruitment (badly needed as always) is continuously lessened
by
us spreading ourselves too thin. Thus, we are unable to fully respond to
the
latest threat. Only a few southern foundations (read: staging areas) have
been created.

We know the territory, but they know the boundaries. Hence, we have been
forced to concentrate in a given area (Dixie); we are being surrounded, and
they are on the march (latest stop - Atlanta)

They have a clear agenda, and have laid out the means to achieve it. Here's
the mandate from the NAACP: "...within this decade we will have succeeded
in removing every monument of every description dedicated to the
Confederacy
that adorns public property in the State of Texas. Our brothers and sisters
all across the South will have succeeded in the same manner within their
respective states....."

-----NAACP Conference, Houston, Texas, July 3,1998

Well, at least that last one should keep you motivated. But what's more
important to note, doesn't this look like the same position we were in 136
years ago? From what I know about the War, here's my opinion of why we
lost:

We were gentleman about the whole thing.

For the most part, we stayed on the defensive - defending our Constitution
and our homes

Funding dried up due in part to a successful Federal Naval
campaign/blockade. In modern day terms this would be described as a
'boycott'.

So, fine. A) Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

(B) And when an enemy keeps getting the upper hand, you must learn, and if
necessary adapt their own strategies. C) Wars are not won by one great
victory, but by consecutively winning the small battles one by one, and
reducing the enemies' will to fight.

From the enemy's mandate, the mission is clear: Saving the Southern
Culture,
State Sovereignty, educating the population as to the nature and cause of
this contest, and keeping forever the respect and memory of those who died
fighting for it. To fight any battle, all that's needed is fuel and
information. Any well-motivated army can do the rest. No more eating,
meeting and retreating, gentleman. Time for them to feel our pain.

First, let's talk fuel. In today's political warfare, that fuel is $money$.
For this, a little history lesson: Remember last year when Jesse Jackson
went to Decatur, Illinois, to fight for the right of several adolescent
thugs -- terrorizing the entire local school system in the process?
Appalled, weren't you? Guess what? You were supposed to be. Getting mad
over it kept most folks from wondering how he could even pull it off. Think
about the hotel and travel costs when Jesse goes anywhere. Bodyguards,
lawyers,
etcetera. That takes BEAUCOUP money.

On any given day, there is another heritage violation somewhere. In most
cases, the locals are on their own, since a "strike team" can't be there in
a moment's notice. These little battles have been won and lost due to how
much funding is available for the "troops in the field". I know. I've been
on the short end of this many times. At the Jarbridge Shovel Brigade of
July
4th in Northern Rural Nevada, the 10,000 expected turned out to be only
2500 due to the cost of not only getting people there, but taking care of
them
while they were there.

We need to reach the Southern Businessmen. Those whose roots are in the
South, believe in the Cause, and are willing to help. Sadly, a few dollars
won't help. Long Term: we are talking thousands, or even more. But why
should any Southern businessman throw away money after such a cause?
Rallies? Protests? Buy more flags? Answer to the Southern Businessman:
Learn from the enemies' tactics. We must become an absolute nuisance to
them. This will: a) put THEM on the defensive; b) carry the message out;
and c) make the next person not want to go through the headaches we give.

For example: Wouldn't it be nice if every time a child was thrown out of
school for wearing a Confederate flag, it was GUARANTEED that such a
school would have at least 200 huge Confederate Flags marching around it
within 48 hours - for a whole day or longer? At the same time, there should
be
contact persons (established regionally), ready to talk to any school
official
face to face to lobby for justice. Public Relations personnel to place
Press
Releases in the hands of the local media. People ready to offer lodging to
"strike team members" from other areas. Planned and organized days where
nearly the entire student body wears Confederate colors to school. If the
school has to close for a day -- SO WHAT!

Sounds crazy, right?

Yeah, Black folks thought so, too, when it was first proposed. Then it
caught on. Impossible? Only if we don't believe in why we' re doing it.
The point being that it takes organization, not just a rally or griping
about
how bad it is. There is another offensive move on foot that should be
considered by many other rural areas in Dixie. Some folks in Georgia aren't
giving up yet. Mike Crane of Fannin County, Georgia, attended a Townhall
Commission meeting to propose adopting "Georgia's true State flag" as the
"County flag" for Fannin County. I highly endorse this move for Fannin, and
other rural counties as well. Simply proposing to add the St. Andrews Cross
to an existing county flag (and pushing for it hard) is a bonafide
offensive
move, can keep the colors flying, and gives the opposition to many battles
in different places.

Jeff Mock also wants to get this moving in Walton County, Georgia. Give
these folks credit for thinking "outside of the box". And give 'em all the
support you can. As for politics, those who vote against Southern Heritage
should face two election battles, not just one. First in the primary, then
the general election. This means, we'll need True Southerners from both
parties -- ready to sign up, with troops ready to help them.

These are not pipe dreams, folks. These are just some of the goals that can
be laid out, and made into workable plans. Think to yourselves: has this
ever been done before in America? All of this will take money, and good
strong leadership on the ground in Dixie. The money should be raised
nationwide, but administered in Dixie, by trustworthy stewards. This winter
and spring, I will be speaking to many Southerners in person at numerous
events. I am asking that businessmen who love the South to please attend. I
will be promoting these ideas, and will push for more detailed discussions
on how to achieve them. Let's take what lessons have been learned from past
movements in the South, and make them really work FOR the South this time.

One more thing before cleaning off my grays and getting back to the
battlefield: To the church congregations: No movement in this nation has
ever been successful without you. Talk to your ministers and fellow
parishioners. More than ever, we need good, solid Christian people taking
the lead, and supporting the troops. Let's start getting some clergymen on
record on the South. I know -- tough call. No one wants to be labled. But
there's no better way than to just say it:

(and you can tell your friends these words came from a Black man)

There's nothing shameful about being a White Southern Christian! There is
nothing shameful about having ancestors who fought --and died-- for the
Confederacy. It is wrong to be attacked and assaulted simply for what you
believe; yet, it is happening, people -- the tables have turned. And, it
will get worse if too many of you simply do nothing, accept it, and say
"that's just the way it is". Yes, contrary to the Dixie Media, you do have
rights -- even White people. Anyone who dares say otherwise is violating
YOUR civil liberties. Stop hanging your heads down in shame and defeat,
unless you want your children and grandchildren to face even more
oppression
in the future. Hold that head up, and straighten out that back. It's okay
to
be an American -- without any prefix.

Look in the mirror. Think you're just one person? You are one of God's
greatest gifts. If you still believe in what we are fighting for, then the
South needs you. The West needs you. American needs you.

And I need you.

For Dixie,

J.J. Johnson

Far-Left Hate - Part 2

In last week's segment, we identified a handful of 'hate watch' sites - run, ostensibly,
by folks who understand better how people ought to interact than anyone else. One site in particular, http://www.publiceye.org. The Public Eye, succinctly defined - in a neat, scrolling banner,
streaming across their main page - the forces of 'evil' that the anti-hate crowd purport to oppose.
A study of these terms will help us to understand just what it is that fires up these folks.

Collectively, the terms are defined as, "Threats to Democracy and
Diversity". Was it Woodrow Wilson who first used the term democracy, as if our
nation was one? Anyway, before the twentieth century, any schoolboy could have told you - this is
a republic, not a democracy. We do elect our national officers in a democratic fashion,
but all decisions are made by representatives of the people. Thank goodness we don't have
national referenda! And diversity? - nations that truly have it have internal strife,
nations that don't, generally don't.

Racism

Using a person's race to point out just about anything. We are only allowed to use 'race'
in a sentence when we are describing how downtrodden and oppressed a racial group is. If we say
that, for instance, as many as 25% of Black men ages 18 to 34 have a rap sheet, we are being
racist. Never mind whether it's true. Suppression of truth defeats our ability to deal with
reality, thus making the original problem larger than necessary.

Sexism

Same as above, only with gender as the operational term. If we cannot discuss real gender
differences, truth dies. If we cannot deal with women as women and men as men, then we turn people
into robots, which are much easier to subdue than flesh and blood.

Homophobia

What in the world is homophobia, anyway? Is there anyone who is really afraid of
homosexuals? If the fear is actually directed at homosexuality itself, then why so maligned the
fear that one's children may have to grow up in a world unintended by our Lord? If millions of
people took up murder as an active interest, citing the 'naturalness' of it, should we who are
against it be labeled 'murderphobes?' I know...the whole context of homosexuality is presented as
an 'alternative normal state.' Any biology text will tell you that sexual activity in an organism
is for reproduction of the species. Therefore, any off-label use of the sex organs has to be
termed 'abnormal.' I can already hear them screaming: "But it just 'feels right' so it must
be natural!" Any alcoholic will tell you that he feels better when tanked up, but it doesn't
do him or anyone around him any good.

Antisemitism

Works just like 'racism' and 'sexism.' Say anything critical about someone who happens to be
Jewish, and you are in trouble. This accusation is used by Jews or Jewish groups that have
nothing intelligent to say in their defense.

Oppression

Defined as anyone or any institution acting out of good sense against anyone else making no sense.
In today's world, idiots have a right to be taken seriously, and we are not to hold them down to
the same rules to which productive society is subject.

Supremacy

A derogatory term tagged on anyone who happens to notice racial differences. We are supposed to
be deaf, dumb, and blind to it all.

Demonization

Making a demon out of a demonic individual or issue. We're not supposed to notice...remember?

Scapegoating

When someone on the Right blames the actual culprit for an injustice.

Conspiracism

When the Right uncovers the Left's plans, it's Conspiracism - when it happens the other way, it's
'investigative journalism.'

Demagoguery

When the Right keeps hammering the truth. When the Left does it, it's "expressing the will
of the people."

Prejudice

pre-judge: To make a decision based on previous knowledge. Otherwise known as 'good
sense.'

Discrimination

Being able to tell right from wrong, good from bad, smart from stupid, etc.

Ethnocentrism

The 'evil' of any white, Christian nation or ethnic group daring to evolve their laws and customs
around their common roots. When 'people of color' do it, we are supposed to 'celebrate their
beautiful culture.'

Stereotyping

Daring to notice that ethnic/racial groups tend to repeat certain behaviours. It's okay to refer
to the 'thrifty Scot,' though.

Theocracy

What we are headed toward any time a devout Christian politician expresses his faith in a public
venue. But Joe Lieberman can parade his pseudo-Jewish schtick all over the media - in the midst
of an election, no less.

Millennialism

The Bible certainly contains prophesy regarding the end times [eschatology,] but if you claim to
understand some of it, you are a 'millennialist.' That's bad, I guess. Isn't it?

Apocalypticism

Tied closely to 'millennialism.' These two terms probably rain on the secular humanists' parade
because they contradict the idea that men control their own destiny. If God can turn out the
lights at any time, then what point is there to 'fight for world peace,' and all that nonsense?

Authoritarianism

The Right putting their ideas into law. When the left does it, its called 'sustainable policy.'

Vigilantism

What some elements of the Right resort to when the legal system fails to do its job. Since
government is made up of people, vigilantism is simply 'justice by other means.'

Producerism

Any policy or philosophy which acknowledges or encourages the productivity of individuals or
[non-governmental] organisations. The Left thinks that consumer goods fall from the sky. They
think that wealthy people with good ideas should risk their investment capital out of a love for
humanity, not expecting a return. Leftists should put this theory into practice with their own
money, if it's such a good idea. They won't, because it isn't.

Repression

When traditional, common-sense people shout down stupid, silly people with stupid, silly ideas,
its called 'repression.'

Neofascism

When the Right begins to gain the same amount of power as the Left, they become 'neo-fascists.'

Neonazism

The term the Left drags out when 'neo-fascist' isn't convincing enough.

Totalitarianism

See 'neo-fascism'

What Does it All Mean?

The obvious trend running through these terms is that none of them ever apply to the Left.
This is where people with 'ears to hear' and 'eyes to see' get the idea that the media are biased
to the liberal side. The Left is the 'baseline' by which all other ideas are judged. The Left
doesn't see it that way because they think they are normal and everyone else is nuts. But while
Leftists ideology is founded on the shifting sands of human opinion, the Right's ideas are founded
in the truths of the Bible - even non-believers' positions are Biblically-based, though they
choose not to acknowledge the fact.

The reason the Right spends so much time rending its garments and fragmenting their alliances is
that we are all obsessed with 'truth.' Since we are sinful humans, we differ on the plain
teachings of God in the Bible, but we nevertheless sing from the same sheet of music [mostly.]
The Left is obsessed with power. Even though the interests of various groups on the Left
are widely divergent, they are willing to jump into bed with anyone who can assure their rise in
status and power. This is why the Left is 'popular' and the Right isn't.

An obvious question to ask is, "why does the Left fight the Right so hard?" After all,
we are mostly folks who simply want to be left alone to live our lives without interference from
without. We are no threat to anyone. Or are we? Perhaps if the Left desires to consolidate
power, and we desire to be left alone, we diminish the power of their 'hive' if we opt out. Then
all the talk of 'world peace,' 'sustainable biospheres,' and 'social justice' is simply a load of
bovine effluent designed to disguise the Left's simple desire to be 'the king' and rule 'all they
survey.'

Power...money...it all makes sense.

Let them have their little 'watch' websites, their smug attitudes, their aristocratic glibness
when faced with the truth. Truth will indeed win over evil. The Left may make things hard for us
- harder than they already are. They may make it hard to do business, to educate our children, to
worship - mind you, they may even try to kill us [and many will assert that such is already
happening.] No plan, no agenda, no doctrine, no machination of man can thwart the will of God.

Louis J. Goldberg,

*************************************
I Are da Fyoochar

When I graduated from middle school, we had a printed program that was handed out to the
attendees. On the cover were the words ";We Are the Future."; I remember reading that
and thinking ; "yeah...whatever."; Looking back, I remember those kids with whom I was
'the future.' Lord, help us.

In The Missourian, [Columbia's other newspaper,] appeared a story on Wednesday, 23
May, regarding one of our latest examples of 'the future' - one that is all too prevalent.
Certainly, your local high school has a specimen just like the gem about to be outlined.
[Sorry...this article was not available online. My hard copy is in the trash somewhere under some
banana peels and 'used' diapers, so I will not quote word for word here.]

A girl was the feature story - front page, above the fold. She is Black, and is suing the school
[or school district] for discrimination because she was removed as Student Body President. The
reasons cited were poor attendance and 'behavioral' problems. The NAACP, of course, is
representing her.

The girl was absent 27 times [this school year.] In addition to the occasional flu or cold,
her excuses included picking up her prom dress, and getting her hair done. The girl blames the
colour of her skin, and not her horrible example as a student for her troubles. This is nothing
less than the result of spending 12 years teaching a child to think the world revolves around
them. Add to this case the fact that Black students are taught to pity themselves through vehicles
such as 'Black History Month.' [Note to schools: 'Black History Month' discriminates against White
students.]

The girl [I forgot her name,] is completely blind to the fact that she was removed, not because
she is Black, but because she is a deadbeat, and sets a poor example for the rest of the
student body. Columbia being the mecca of liberalism that it is, the legal action in which she is
involved will probably resolve favorably for her. This will be a huge disservice to the girl and
her 'fyoochar,' though if she did, she wouldn't be the first to make a career out of a lawsuit.

Little Miss Whatsername is not 'the future,' rather 'da fyoochar' to which we must all become
accoustomed.

Other manifestations of 'da fyoochar' abound in service jobs such as restaurants and retail
outlets. The 'me' generation treats us to conversations at the checkstand, regarding the party
they will attend later that evening, pausing each item above the scanner window to punctuate the
name of every deviant, eyebrow-pierced, empty-brained male that will be in attendance [whilst
scanning 12 2-liters of Diet Coke...one at a time...and making mistakes]

'Da Fyoochar' appears at the doctor's office as the once-friendly young girl who takes your blood
is replaced by the tongue-studded Goth horror queen with zero personality.

'Da Fyoochar' is in the drive-thru, messes up your order three times and then doesn't apologise
for the inconvenience.

'Da Fyoochar' works at the bank teller window, the dry cleaners, and may even be a pharmacist's
assistant gathering your prescription.

'Da Fyoochar' puts the letters up on the marquee at Hardee's saying "Two Burger's for Price
of One!"

'Da Fyoochar' may even be administering your 401(k).

'Da Fyoochar' is a slack new world where no one seems to care about anyone or anything - except
themselves.

The upside? If this is the level of individual the Public Gulag Districts are turning out, true
patriots have nothing to fear in the next revolution.

Mississippi knew its flag was not a race issue
Published April 19, 2001
Charley Reese

The vote in Mississippi to retain the 104-year-old state flag, which includes the Confederate battle flag as part of its design, is being depicted in the news media as a racial issue. It isn't. Yes, I know a lot of liberals and professional racists say the battle flag is a symbol of racism and slavery. Well, then, how do you explain that polls conducted by Mississippi's newspapers showed that 30 percent of the blacks favored the old flag?

It's my belief that it has been an artificial controversy from the beginning, a fund-raising cause for the NAACP and an excuse to feel self-righteous for white liberals. A majority of Americans, black and white, I would guess, would be hard put to describe their state's flag accurately, much less a historical flag.

The very idea that changing the design of a piece of cloth that flies on a flag pole is going to affect anyone's life, one way or another, is ridiculous. It is purely a media issue.

I happened to be in Mississippi a few weeks before the vote, and there was no controversy "raging," as Northern newspapers like to state. Those in favor of the old flag, such as the Sons of Confederate Veterans, were planning a low-key campaign simply to let people know about the vote.

The proponents of the new flag, who raised more than $600,000, were largely liberal politicians and preachers and Chamber-of-Commerce types. Their only lame argument was that a new flag would attract new industry to the state. That in itself was plainly absurd to anyone who has had any involvement in industrial development. Corporations look for tax breaks, cheap land and relatively cheap labor. I've never heard a company ask about a state flag.

As for race relations, they seem to be as good in Mississippi as they are in most places and better than in some, such as Cincinnati, for example. Southerners include blacks and whites and always have. The two races have certainly had their differences and conflicts, as they have everywhere else in the United States, but, in the words of a Southern writer, they have "always milled around together," bound by their common love of the region, their Christian faith and common courtesy.

In Georgia and South Carolina, politicians caved in to media pressure. In Georgia, they changed the flag, and, in South Carolina, they moved it from the state Capitol building to a Confederate monument nearby. In both cases, the politicians denied the people a vote on the question. If they had, I'm pretty confident the vote would have mirrored Mississippi's, where 65 percent voted for the old flag.

Mississippi is exactly the same today as it was before the vote. If residents had voted for the new flag, it would have been exactly the same. Changing the designs on pieces of cloth does not change complex human relationships. Nor does it change the economic status of people. And certainly black folks are smart enough to know that, which is why there was no large black turnout at the polls.

The Confederate flag, like reparations for slavery, is largely a media-generated controversy that most people don't care about. This is the 21st century, and although all Americans should study their history, our main attention must be focused on the present.

There are no ex-slaves and no ex-slave owners. Nobody alive today owes anybody anything for something that happened to other people in another time. Nor can anybody alive today honestly say that their life is worse because some distant ancestor was a slave. The 1860 census, by the way, showed more than 3,500 black slave owners, and, of course, it was the Africans who enslaved their own people and sold them for rum and whatever.

We are responsible for our own sins and our own actions, but not for those of anyone else -- least of all for people who were long dead before we were born. We should not be surprised that con artists and trial lawyers will take a run at making money out of history. (Why not? They've tried every other conceivable ploy.) We should not pay them any attention, however. We have more important things to do.

We Southerners often are faulted for our monuments and ceremonies honoring the Confederate dead, but the fact is that folks everywhere should honor and remember their ancestors. We are their posterity. We live in a world that they helped shape. None of us can change the past nor bring it back even if we wanted to, which we don't. I like to read about the War Between the States, but I like to do so in the comfort of my air-conditioned living room.

We cannot stop professional racists from stirring even imaginary pots as they try to keep their jobs, but we should remember that the road to better race relations lies where it always has:

Looking at each other as human beings and not as representatives of groups or classes.

JUST SUPPOSE
Dick Bedwell,
Southern Party of Kentucky

JUST SUPPOSE that at every ball game, graduation, prom, etc., someone who has had enough of stupid anti-historical court descisions had the guts to start reciting the Lord's Prayer loudly, and others joined in, then more, until hundreds participated.

And JUST SUPPOSE this spread all over our land until this became standard practice in hundreds of schools, then thousands, then tens of thousands.
Just what would local school boards do? Expel half the student body? They need their jobs and federal funding far too much to do that. What would a Federal district court do? Order hundreds of nonviolent, decent minors jailed? Or thousands? Just what would the Supreme Court do about it, issue more edicts? What if millions decided the Supreme Court was out of its league and said "So What?"

JUST SUPPOSE hundreds of brave school board members, local judges, prosecutors, and others, each in their own area of authority, refused to intervene, realizing that we have already tried it the other way, and the result was a modern-day Sodom and Gomorra of immorality and senseless violence.

JUST SUPPOSE this then spread next into classroom after clasroom, and either a brave student or a brave teacher started the Lord's Prayer or Psalm 100, or a Bible reading, etc.,, each morning, until hundreds of thousands stood up and did their part and stopped cowering before the destructive, God-hating secular attitudes of the pagan minority who parrot the media line.

JUST SUPPOSE every God-fearing Christian participated, peacefully, nonviolently, but firmly and continually. Where would they get enough jails to hold us all? How would they prosecute hundreds of thousands? It is far more than the government can do to even stop the flow of illegal drugs, despite their best efforts, and overcrowded jails. Hardened criminals walk after doing only half their sentence to ease jail crowding. Even if they try to pick on a handful to make examples of them, what if hundreds of thousands stood up to the tyrrany of the minority and demanded their freedom of religion back? They can't build enough jails or courts to begin to deal with such a movement.

During the Civil Rights battles of the 60's, some of the black People decided they had enough and stood up to the system, a few dozen here, a few hundred there, and eventually the whole country heard, and repented, and changed. Racial repression was an evil whose time was over. But now, there is another battle, and the stakes are even higher. The future of all children, white, black, and otherwise, is at stake. No other country on the earth allows a tiny minority of impractical anti-religious bigots to censor their people's right to free religious expresion. Even Russian public schools show videos of the life and teachings of Jesus now. We tend to get exactly the kind of government we deserve.

If you make a time line or a graph, you will see that the exponential increase in public school violence, pregnancy, and foul language all started at exactly the time the Supreme Court threw prayer and Bible reading out of the schools. We told God we didn't need Him, and the results speak for themselves.

JUST SUPPOSE hundreds of Christians passed this on to all their friends, leaders, and contacts.

JUST SUPPOSE hundreds of churches, organizations and ministries passed this message on to their constituencies with a request to reprint, repost, and repeat it wherever possible.

Once upon a time the Church was the moral conscience and spiritual lighthouse of the nation. Now, most congregations are impotent, pusillanimous minor-league social welfare agencies or mutual comfort societies with no impact on the world around their little enclave.

What do you suppose you should do?

YOU MAY NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS, BUT KNOWING WHO HOLDS THE FUTURE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

YOU DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH THIS? TAKE ACTION, PASS IT ON, OR JUST SIMPLY READ AND DO NOTHING! ! ! THE CHOICE IS SIMPLY YOURS.

A REPLY TO MARK STRAUSS’
LET’S DITCH DIXIE:
THE CASE FOR NORTHERN SECESSION
(from Slate.msn.com, 13 March 2001)
BY: DR. MICHAEL HILL, PRESIDENT, THE LEAGUE OF THE SOUTH

As President of The League of the South, an organization that, according to Mark Strauss, “fondly remembers the Confederacy as a golden age,” I give a hearty second to his motion for Yankee secession. After all, we were in Virginia (1607) before you were in Massachusetts (1620), so you Yanks should be the ones who have to leave.
Mr. Strauss, what do you Yankees have that we Southerners really need? For starters, you have no musical or literary traditions. All the genuine musical genres native to these shores have their roots in the South-bluegrass, country (the real stuff), rockabilly, jazz, soul, R&B, blues, and rock and roll (y’all can have rap and heavy metal). Moreover, your northern literature is only a bad imitation of the worst that Europe has produced, while ours is truly world class (e.g. Faulkner, Percy, Poe, Welty, Twain, etc.)
Southerners were in the majority among the Founding Fathers (whom you have demonized by your own brand of Stalinism know as “political correctness”). Among those out-of-fashion Dead, White, European Males (DWEMs) are Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Henry, and Mason, among many others. Where would America have been had these Southern gentlemen decided to remain loyal to the British Empire, Mr. Strauss?
The north (I will not capitalize the word because it is merely a direction and not a real place), Mr. Strauss, has always tried to claim as “American” all the good things that Southerners have created or accomplished. But what should we expect from a people who have no culture of their own? Heck, you people at the north don’t even know how to cook, and you’re so uptight that you don’t know how to relax and enjoy the blessings God bestows. Ever heard of “northern cooking” or “northern hospitality?” Is laissez bon temps roulet a Yankee expression?

We Southerners have a sense of place that is part of our inherited tradition. We even write songs about our places, Mr. Strauss. Ever heard Lynyrd Skynyrd sing about “Sweet Home Alabama,” or Ray Charles’ soulful rendition of “Georgia On My Mind?” Sure you have. But why are there no heartfelt songs about Massachusetts or Minnesota? Hmmm, Mr. Strauss?
If you haven’t noticed, Mr. Strauss, our Southern women are world-famous for their beauty and charm, and feminism, thank the Lord, has not taken root here. Yes, we do have a few hairy-legged Amazons, but they are usually confined to the faculty lounges of our major universities (yet another of your Yankee strongholds that we’ll have to root out). And the men down here, sir, still hold fast to the manly virtues. Even our sports (football and NASCAR) demand toughness and steely nerves, and carry with them the risk of serious bodily injury and death. But, no guts, no glory, Mr. Strauss. Those Southern men who cannot measure up to the gridiron or the racetrack still enjoyed the thrill of shooting guns. Why, I remember in the days of my own misspent youth (playing in a Southern rock band in the late 1960s) a girl of northern persuasions telling me that she liked Southern males because they were “still real men,” unlike the emasculated flower children of the north and west coast. Mr. Strauss, tell us the truth. I think one reason you’d like to see us go is because our men scare the panties off you and our vivacious women evoke within you feelings of great inadequacy.
I will agree with you, Mr. Strauss, on your main point, and that is your contention that “North and South can no longer claim to be one nation.” I hope you’re not just joshing us here. But the trouble is that we’ve known this for about 140 years now and you’re just coming around to seeing the light. So who’s the “dumber” here, my man?
And as for that “gangrenous limb that should have been lopped off decades ago,” don’t forget that as a result of your departure you’ll lose access to all of our oil, natural gas, and coal (and your winters are long and cold), our fertile and extensive farmlands, and all those wonderful vacation spots that attract the ill-mannered “black socks and sandals” crowd from Ohio that descends on us every year (Whew! Those accents).
You must also ask yourself, Mr. Strauss, who’ll fight your wars for you when we’re gone? We Southrons have served the Yankee military in numbers far out of proportion to our population. Perhaps your Yankee Empire won’t be so trigger-happy if you Ivy League brats-the best and brightest (just ask them)-actually have to brave the prospects of blood and death on the battlefield.
Yes, Mr. Strauss, we have our problems here in Dixie. But our material poverty since Appomattox pales beside the poverty of the soul that prevails in your cold and haughty clime. Be honest now, sir, and admit we’ve never really bothered you people up north. All we’ve ever wanted from you and yours was to be left alone. But you people could not oblige us because God has fitted you by nature to be busybodies. And on top of that, you’re envious busybodies. Having no real cultural inheritance of your own, you have sought to destroy what we have out of sheer spite. You are not the sort to make good neighbors.

You have all but destroyed your own region by advancing a liberal “culture of death,” and Mr. Strauss, you can hardly deny that forty million aborted babies is a lot of death. Surely our Southern Solons did not countenance this enormity. So you go ahead and have your “liberal majority” up there, but don’t call us when your part of the house now divided falls in on you. We’ll be down here with our majority of traditionalists restoring a true civilization. God willing, after our divorce we Southerners will be busy enjoying the sweet fruits of a free and prosperous republic founded on private property, free association, fair trade, sound money, low taxes, limited regulation of business, equal justice before the law, secure border, gun rights, protection of the unborn, and an absence of entangling foreign alliances. In other words, Mr. Strauss, we’ll have a civilization and you will not.

And about those nuclear warheads, Mr. Strauss? You won’t have to worry about us harming you. For without the South’s restraining influence, you people will soon enough destroy yourselves through your own stupidity and licentiousness.
