CEA

Construction Engineering Association
The CEA is a non-profit student organization
with a primary objective of providing a comprehensive array of services
to the Construction Engineering students and the AUC community to help
increase their repertoire of practical and theoretical skills.
To achieve these goals effectively,
CEA is divided internally into six committees. The following is a brief
description of the role of each committee.
ACADEMIC COMMITTEE
- Inviting guest lectures to give lectures about construction
related issues.
- Organizing computer sessions for software needed
by CENG students.
- Organizing pre-major orientation for students wishing
to major in CENG
- Considering petitions by CENG students, and suggesting
proposals
ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
- Organizing receptions at the end of each semester,
and several events for the entertainment and socialization among CENG
students
- Organizing outings and one day trips
- Organizing field trips for CENG students to construction
related sites of firms
EXTERNAL PUBLIC RELATIONS
- Strengthening the interaction between the construction
companies and the construction engineering community at AUC
- Coordinating with the CAPS office o provide summer
training opportunities for CENG students
- Providing a channel to exchange experience between
CENG alumni and undergraduates throughout different surveys
- Providing yearly certificates and presents of academic
student achievement (Honor assembly)
- Electing best teaching assistant
FUNDRAISING
- Getting sponsorship from the major construction
companies to support cea activities such as the magazine (Bridge),
yearbook, etc..
PUBLICATIONS
- Issuing CEA magazine (BRIDGE) that include articles
about CENG, information, services, and updates for CEA projects..
- Updating the Homepage of the Construction Engineering
Department and the CEA
SERVICES
- Providing photocopying service for CENG students
- Coordinating with SU and OSOA for CEA activities
- Recruiting new members for the CEA
- Issuing ID cards and letterheads
- Getting offers for CEA activities
