Upon entering High School, Eric got involved in the Debate Team. He was
able to improve his speaking skills, as well as learning to communicate
what he was feeling through the use of words instead of violence.
During his Senior year in High School, Eric was president of the Debate
Team. His self esteem soared, and he was truly happy with himself. As a
reward for all of his hard work on the Debate Team, Eric began part-time
counseling at the Local Boys & Girls Club after school. He learned to work
with troubled youth - many of whom were experiencing things he had gone
Eric graduated with a strong B average. His work in the community
through the Transitional Education Program at his school had shown
Eric that he wantd to become a counselor. He began going to the local
Jr. College, and continued working at the “club”.
When he graduated from the Jr. College, he went on to the State Univ.
and majored in counseling. He continued his volunteer work as a part-time
counselor throughout his entire college career.
After college, he became the Counselor on Staff for the Boys and Girls
Club. He continues his work there to this day. He is emotionally stable,
has many friends, is physically healthy, takes no medication, and only
sees the psychologist on a need-be basis.
