1. Write a short description that explains the following
adaptations and modifications:
- Task Analysis of Assignments: Six-Step strategy for
managing time: Decide exactly what you must do;
decide how many steps are needed to complete the task;
decide how much time each step will take; set up a
schedule; get started; finish the task.
- Specialized Curriculum: Curriculum designed specifically
for students who learn in a “different way”. This
curriculum is designed to meet certain disability needs -
it is NOT just a duplication of regular curriculum.
- Emphasis on Major Points: The purpose of this is to
point-out (to the student) the areas of importance -
Show them what they need to know. This prevents
teachers from assuming that students know what is
- Adjusted Mastery Level: The level of mastery is adjusted to
fit the student’s capability. Not all students can or will master
on the same level. The goal here is to allow the maximum level
of mastery for each student - not a general goal.
- Altered Format of Materials: This allows teachers to present material
to students in whatever order necessary so that that particular student
experiences success. The goal, once again, is to allow masimum success
regardless of what order the material is presented in.
