that each distinct skill is learned.

the “Learning Strategy” model of teaching.
The mutual goal is to teach the student how
to learn, how to organize their thinking, and
how to complete the academic assignments.
- Emphasis on Major Points: An example of this is included in
the “Direct Instruction” model of teaching.
This model focuses on breaking down the
lesson into specific components - emphasizing

“Student-Centered Learning” model. The needs of
the student are the primary concern - not the
curriculum or their level of mastery on that
- Altered Format of Materials: This approach is best described in the
“Learning Strategy” model. The goal is to present
materials so that students comprehend - it doesn’t
matter what order the materials is presented in!
