02/10/05 League match

Kingswells FC Askew hits three past the fighting Mugiemoss

Dave Askew scores three in a hard fought 5-4 win at Mugiemoss.

Kingswells hopes boosted by the return of the Blackpool boys, Darren Milne and Woody, were dented at 10 am, Goalkeeper Dave Allan was unavailable, along with reserve keepers Michael Ritchie and Chris Chalmers who was sunny himself in Tenerife. An s.o.s call to defender Nicky Stephen was made and he came down in time rescue the keeper situation. Kingswells got off to the worst start with Mugiemoss taking the lead with a well placed free kick despite the soft award. A few moments later it was almost two-nil Mugiemoss, but for a superb save from Nicky Stephen tipping the ball over the bar. Gradually Kingswells worked themselves into the game and were level when Nathan Farquhar beat the defender on the half way line used his pace then squared the ball to Dave Askew who turned and slotted the ball past the keeper. Two minutes later Dave Askew scored again, he collected a ball at the back post, beat the defender before drilling a low shot past the keeper from 12 yards. Third goal came after Martin Taylor drilled a free kick which the keeper fumbled allowing Dave Askew a nice tap in for the hat-rick. Martin Taylor added a fourth with a nice finish just before half time, with Gavin McGee claiming the assist.The second half started the same as the first with Mugiemoss scoring early. Nathan Farquhar scored the fifth on the hour mark with a shot from 18 yards. Gavin McGee was unlucky not to see his shot go in, which struck the bar. Mugiemoss known for there battling qualites scored a third with twelve minutes to go, Then had a player sent off for a headbutt on Nicky Rainnie ( the same guy Gavin McGee sliced through when winning the ball in the first half). Mugiemoss then scored a fourth with two minutes to go to setup a nervy finale. Kingswells held out to seal a well deserved team victory.

M.O.M Dave Askew led the front line wonderfully capped of by a first half hat-rick. Gets himself back in the race for the Golden boot award.


25/09/05 Scottish Cup 1st Round

Kingswells FC Taylor double dashes WTR hopes

Taylor made it 5 goals in two games to knock WTR out of the Scottish cup by 3 goals to 1.

Kingswells were missing six key players but still over came a spirited display from there oppenents. New boy John scored the games opening goal when he connected with a good header from six yards out to leave the keeper with no chance. A freak goal brought WTR back into the game, A high looping ball from 25 yards seem to catch the wind and deceive Dave Allan. There joy was short lived after a great one-two between Martin Taylor and Dave Askew resulted in Taylor slotting the ball past the keeper from 10 yards out. John`s debut came to an end just before half time after receiving a nasty gash just above the eye and was replaced be young Gavin. Taylor added his second goal early in the second half with a drilled shot from 12 yards. Dean Foster came on in the second half to replace Kenny. Another fine team display with Davie Allan, Steve Comb, Scott Milne, Mike Morrison, Kevin Brand keeping WTR from scoring in the second half. Further chances from Nicky Rainnie, Michael Ritchie and Dave Askew towards the end.

M.O.M Martin Taylor unlucky not to get m.o.m. last week.  Scored the goals that puts us in the draw for the next round.

Kingswells FC  16 year old Taylor hammers three past KC Milan

Apprentice Joiner Martin Taylor hits a Hat-Rick in a 4-2 away victory against the undefeated KC Milan. 

Kingswells missing several key players especially in defence were forced to battle all the way for the points. Taylor gave them the perfect start with an earlier goal, but it was short lived when a quick reply from KC Milan levelled the score. Within minutes Kingswells went ahead again when a cross found Taylor unmarked in the six yard box, he shot low through the keepers legs. Good movement in midfield found Lee Robertson down the right wing, his inch perfect cross was met by a bullet of a header from Dave Askew. Kingswells extended there lead further when strong hold up play and ball through from Andrew Martin found Martin Taylor out wide left, he cut inside and drilled a low shot beyond the keeper. KC Milan fought back towards half time, some wonder saves from Davie Allan and a goal line clearence from Mike Morrison kept KC Milan at bay, KC Milan snatched a goal a few minutes before Half Time when Davie Allan save fell perfect for the KC Milan player to tap in. KC Milan missed a penalty just before the break when the referee awarded a soft penalty after the KC Milan player looked to have made the most of it after a challenge from David Wood. A fighting display and some excellent goalkeeping kept KC Milan from scoring in the second period.

M.O.M Davie Allan Proved why he is the number 1 keeper in the league with a several world class saves and blocks.


04/09/05 League match

Kingswells FC Nicky Rainnie hat-rick destroys Shell hopes.

Hat-Rick from Nicky Rainne helps Kingswells FC defeat Shell 5-1.

After a good opening ten minutes a Lee Robertson through ball sent Nicky through one on one with the keeper and he cooly slotted home from close range. Nicky`s second came direct from a corner. He swung it in beaten everyone including Gavins fringe. Poor marking on the stroke of half time allowed Shell into the game with there only real chance. Nicky completed his hat-rick 5 minutes into the second half. Malcolm Robertson kept up his goal a game by slotting home the forth. Subs Scott Campbell and Andrew Martin combined with there first touches as Scott scored his first for the club.

30/08/05 League match

Kingswells FC  win hard fought game against Brig O Dee

Chris Chalmers comes out of retirement to inspire Kingswells to a 3-1 victory.

Captain Lee Robertson struck just before half time to give Kingswells a narrow advantage going into half time. After a poor miss at the back post in the opening minutes, Lee drilled a shot from the edge of the box which took a wicked deflection off a defender and wrong footed the keeper. Kingswells made it two within the hour mark when a solo run from Nicky Rainnie inside his own half split Brig O Dee defence wide open, Nicky ran through the centre and  rounded the keeper for a nice easy finish. With twenty minutes to go Brig O Dee pushed forward and were caught again at the back with the impressive Dave Askew flicking the ball through to Malcolm Robertson who slotted it past the on rushing keeper to make it 3 goals in three games. Slim had a chance to make it four but just over hit his intended lob. Brig O Dee hit a consolation goal in the last minute after Nicky Rainnie scored in his own net with an unlucky clearance. Again a very impressive team performance with Steve Comb outstanding at the back along with Scott Milne who was making his first start of the season after injury. Chris Chalmers showed he can still produce the saves despite bringing up the average age of the side from 21 to 28. 

M.O.M Nicky Rainnie Put in a powerful shift on the right side of midfield topped of with the goal of the game. Referee also awarded nicky the man of the match.


23/08/05 League match

Kingswells FC smash seven past WTR

Kingswells run out convincing winners in a match dominated from start to finish beating WTR 7-0.

Gavin McGee opening the scoring midway through the first half, with Dave Askew adding a second just on half time with a nice solo run. Second half goals came from top scorer Malcolm Robertson, Centre half Steve Comb, club captain Lee Robertson. Not to be out done by his brother Nicky Rainnie scored his first of many for the club. Sub Michael Ritchie completed the rout just before the end.

M.O.M Kevin McFadden Very unlucky not to add his name on the score sheet with two shots that hit the bar.


21/08/05 League match

Kingswells FC miss last minute penalty!

Kingswells draw 2-2 with North Star on the 1st day of the new season.

A host of chances were missed including a last minute penalty.But considering it was Kingswells first ever competative match, they should be quite pleased with the result.Goal Scorers Darren Milne and Malcolm Robertson.
