Campus
Crusade for Christ provides each staff member with the distinct privilege
of involving others in their ministry. No matter how strong our commitment
or how good our intentions, we cannot do it alone. As Christians, we are
all part of the body of Christ, and we need each other to fulfil the tasks
that God has given us (I Corinthians 12:12-26). In Philippians 4:10-19,
Paul reminds the church at Philippi that God will bless them greatly for
their investment in his life and ministry. In other words, investing in
the ministry of another is one of the most effective ways to increase your
own impact on the world for God, and He will bless you abundantly for it.
It
is my great honour to extend to you the opportunity to be a part of my
ministry team. As Paul said in Philippians 4:17, "Not that I seek the gift
itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account." If
your desire is to help reach a lost generation for Christ and to change
the world in the process, then I would be very excited to have you as a
partner. You can get involved in my ministry through two main avenues:
your prayers and your resources.
Prayer
is the foundation for everything I do. In Ephesians 6, God uses Paul to
encourage us to bathe everything we do in prayer; and throughout the Bible,
God commands us to "pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17)." We are
in a constant battle against Satan, the world, and our own nature. Prayer
is what will make the difference in these battles! In order to keep my
partners updated so that they can pray in an informed manner, I send out
a regular newsletter. Online versions of my most recent newsletters are
available in the Library.
The
second way you can get involved is by investing your resources. Campus
Crusade has no central source of funds with which to pay salaries; instead,
each staff member must raise the funds necessary to cover their salary
and ministry expenses. It is through people like you as well as businesses
and churches that God provides for each staff member's needs. Many people
choose to automate regular contributions from their bank, while others
prefer more occasional lump-sum gifts. These funds are used to cover personal
costs and ministry expenses including prayer letter costs, travel, evangelistic
materials and rent. The financial investment of my supporters provides
the means by which I can bring the gospel message to the world through
the church.
In
addition to the newsletters I send out, I am committed to keeping my support
team involved through phone calls and visits when possible. I also desire
to encourage my partners to develop their own vision for how they can reach
those around them for Christ. |
