Together in Ministry Jan '00
Wow! What a bumper edition we have for this month! I guess you can think of it as a belated Christmas and New Millennium present to you.
Included you should find a commemorative edition for Campus Crusade/Student Life Australia. A good read as to where we are coming from and where we are going. It contains reports of the best as well as the worst, an honest account of the past 25 years.

Also there are brochures for the new "Jesus: The man behind the Millennium" video. The new edition consists of the original Campus Crusade video that faithfully portrays the account of Luke along with a special Australian introduction and conclusion raising the issue of what it means to be entering a new Millennium. The brochure does advertise what a great Christmas present it would make (a little late for that I think!) but is otherwise still relevant in content.

Thirdly, you will find a brochure for the new Mobile phone plan available through Campus Crusade. Basically how it works is that any time you start a mobile package, you are paying a certain commission to a third party dealer. By using this package, that commission will go to supporting the Campus ministry! Exciting huh? Not only do you know your money is being invested well, from what I've seen the package is unbeatable to boot. I have just needed to purchase a mobile phone and from investigating the deals around, nothing could beat this $35/mnth package - $25/mnth of free calls at 20c/30sec with no flagfall, and a Nokia phone for $1.
Finally, amidst all these brochures you will find our newsletter for the Agape mission. Can you believe the team put that newsletter together in a mere three hours? And what a mission it was! It has really

opened my eyes to the potential of working with Muslims within Australia. I've been able to use my Turkish regularly again and see a Turkish man become a Christian about a week ago. It is so strange not having to worry about being openly evangelistic while working with Muslims.
I will be seriously looking at this as a long-term opportunity for me in the future. My immediate future will be working with Student Life at Sydney University where I am needed and can receive the best training. However further down the track, things are less clear. I can envisage going back to the Middle East long term, staying with campus ministry here, or moving more into Muslim ministry in Australia.

January is a fairly quiet month for me, but come February we will be gearing up for the new year of University. Please be praying for Student involvement in the launching of a new year of evangelism and discipleship. As a staff team we are excited about several new ideas we hope to implement this year having learn some lessons from the 1900s.
Your faithful brother in Christ, Andrew de Jonge
