May is upon us, and the weather is beginning to cool. But that doesn't at all mean ministry is, oh no! We're just getting warmed up!

Well, more exciting stories this month of what God has been doing. You might have noticed I love focusing on stories of people who have been saved and people who are seeking God and that's because that is what grabs me. I'm here on campus to see people set free and have their lives changed and I'm going to guess that's probably why you are part of this ministry team.

Notice the new title? Too pretentious, or a good summery of mission work? It is our goal to change the world, but a goal achieved one step at a time. I do not believe there is any magical formula for creating a sudden revival across the face of a campus or city. People come to Christ as the Holy Spirit works and most of the time its just hard work day-in day-out that produces the fruit.

LOOKING FORWARDS TO NEXT YEAR
An interesting idea has been maturing slowly for the past two months. Victoria is a state where little work among University students takes place. Although Student Life does have a group at Monash University, it is student run; with no staff its ability to grow is limited by the free time the students can manage. This has been difficult for them over the past several years.

The idea has been put forward for a team of graduating students (myself included) to form a STINT team and head down to Melbourne next year. A STINT is a one-year commitment to ministry (my year last year in the Middle East was called a STINT). The idea has caught the interest of many of the graduating students, for the pioneering aspect of opening a new state but also because of the great enthusiasm of the Monash students towards this idea. Be praying as the idea develops.

And that fruit, no matter how much or how little is invaluable when we remember through us, God is saving people from judgement and enabling them to experience personal transformation.

The quest for more effective strategies continues being a personal hobby of mine. But I need to continually remind myself that success comes primarily out of the hard work of being faithful daily. Looking for "the perfect system" or strategy can be like a "Get rich quick" scheme, in the hope of a short cut to success bypassing the need for patience and endurance.
