Stands for:

and is committed to:
1. the development of self-esteem. 2. creating a happy school community in which respect and tolerance for the individual, the environment and property are practised and a passion for excellence is inspired.
It encourages: self-reliance, critical and creative thought, a sense of responsibility and accountability self-discipline, honesty and integrity, equipping learners with skills to deal with a changing world, and stimulating vision and
optimism.
EXTRA-MURAL
ACTIVITIES Pinelands High School provides a full programme of sporting and cultural extra-mural activities in accordance with its Mission Statement.

In addition, the school produces a play or musical annually, in all aspects of which the learners are involved (acting, set construction, backstage, makeup, sound and lighting, publicity, etc).
On their own initiative, learners have also been involved in producing very successful Cabarets, One Act Plays and other events in which their talents have been showcased. Sports

Now it possesses modern facilities which include:
Kent Hall
Information Centre
- is well stocked with audiovisual equipment and books - attempts to integrate the wealth of knowledge available on the Internet with the school curriculum
Computer Centre
- two rooms each housing approximately 35 computers
Bookshop
Art Room and Textile Design/Ceramics Centre
- includes a firing kiln and art equipment.
Woodwork/Technology Block
- consists of a fully equipped machine room, a workshop and a drawing room.

Science and Biology Laboratories
Home Economics Room

Outdoor Sports Facilities
5 hockey fields 2 rugby fields 3 cricket fields (2 with turf pitches) cricket nets 5 tennis courts (also used for netball in winter) 1 basketball court 25m swimming pool
The subject choices offered in the various grades in 2000 are as follows:
NOTES: (1) MUSIC 2nd INSTRUMENT (SG) is available in Groups 3, 4 or 5 in Grades 10, 11 and 12. (2) COMPUTER STUDIES HG is offered in Grades 10, 11 and 12 for those learners who qualify, but it is taught at Rhodes High School. (3) This curriculum is offered SUBJECT TO CERTAIN MINIMUM NUMBERS OF LEARNERS AND THE SCHOOL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISCONTINUE SUBJECTS IN THE EVENT OF UNDERSUBSCRIPTION.
