My Love

When you came into my life,
My world seemed so dark.
I felt so alone, I had no where to go.
But you lit a tourch and left your mark.

I was tired of this world,
I was ready to give up the fight.
But you gave me love and set my heart afire
You've sent my soul flying higher than a kite.

You took away the pain and hurt I had inside
You told me you'd never make me cry.
You gave me love and hope inside,
You helped me up and made me fly.

Then one day you tried to push me away.
Like a baby bird trying to fly I fell without you.
And I clung back on to you and would not let go.
For I knew what my fate was if I let go of you.

Again I'd be hurt, again all alone.
I couldn't go back to that dark world again.
You'd brought me up too high this time.
You filled me with love and I would never be the same again.

And then like a mircle you seemed to wrap your arms around me.
You held me close and the love you gave grew.
It felt as though our souls became one
And together with you, I was someone new.

You took away the pain and hurt I had inside
You told me you'd never make me cry.
You gave me love and hope inside,
You helped me up and made me fly.

But now it's all gone,
The love you once had for me.
I did the damage that I can't take back.
And you're heart was broke because of me.

You can no longer trust me.
I know my mistake
I destroyed the best thing in my life.
And for it my heart will forever break.

But still I stay, knowing we both hurt.
Maybe together we can mend our pain.
Time can only tell if I'm to ever hear you say
I love you once again.
