The main objective as discussed in the problem statement is to investigate the stress at the extreme fibers of a steel beam. In order to complete the investigation of s, three main objectives must be met. They are as follows:

• Determine the probabilistic characteristics of s;
• Compute the yield stress exceedence probability; and
• Perform a parametric analysis.

Additional analysis is also recommended in order to fully understand all aspects of the steel beam stresses.
